Cycle Works will be Closing its Doors

Dammit. Now where do I go when I need parts for my Boxxer and I want to ride it tomorrow?

Thanks for your service John. Cycle Works was/is a great shop. Best of luck wherever you land.

Say it ain't so.C'mon John, don't do anything hasty. The snow will melt someday. Who are me Dieter and Skip going to bother now? Seriously, this is sad news indeed. Our biking community is losing a great shop here.I'd like to take this time to thank John, Frank, Lilly and the boys for all their help , service and most of all frienship everytime I walked into the shop. Good luck in your future endeavours, Eric

sorry to hear man.

what are your hours the rest of this time you are open? specifically the weekend?

Over the past four or so years, John, Frank and Lily have gone past a friendly business acquaintance. They have become my very dear, trusted friends, and are truly a group of standout individuals.

I really can't say enough about the way Cycle Works was run or how amazing of friends John and Lily have been.

All I can say is that my heart is completely broken.

Very sad to hear that guys.....John / Lilly - you guys are awesome and I wish you the best....I will miss stopping by and chatting.....Good luck in your next endeavor....see you on the trails....Tom

Wow John, no it can't be. I really hope everything works out for Lily and you. You guys were all I had for local bike assistance. I'm really sorry to hear about this sad news. Total shocker, i rarely sign into MTBNJ anymore & to see this thread title made me sad. I'll call you tomorrow.

-Evan

I bought 3 bikes from those guys. Will miss them and their service and advice. All the best.

Thanks John.... and good luck with whatever life has in store. You are the best.
See ya soon.

John, I'm so sorry to hear about this. You sold me my first mountain bike when you worked at Whippany Cycle. You gave me my first tips on where to ride. You live and breathe this sport and you give so much to it. I wish you all the best on your next venture.

I told my wife of the bad new and she got really upset. We got her road bike there and although she's only met John and Lily once at the shop she felt close to them instantly (maybe it's because I'm always talking about them and the shop) so she was sad to hear the news.

Wow...what a bummer

I still remember heading out for a ride a few years ago with a buddy who's brake line bonked out 1/4 mile into the ride....headed over to Cycleworks and John treated us as if we were regulars at the shop - stopped the other work he was doing, fixed the line and we were back on our way to hit the mooch..all this on a Saturday no less...class act and will be missed.

wow John,,, I really dont know what to say... you guys are the absolute best and i'm heartbroken right now,,, no one compares bro! the way you take care of me (and bikes) is unbelievabe. race ready, spot on, everytime! no matter how mangled i brought it in! the anthem build alone was amazing! we go back quite some time,,, i wish you the best of luck with your future... I'll see you at the shop before the 28th.

After getting the news, went up to see what Cycleworks is all about. Was there for an hour or so as John helped me out. He's a super dude with a sweet shop and and super generous with his knowledge. Can't wait to meet up with him on the trails.
Great deals now, several sweet rigs. Everyone should make a stop.

John I want to thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise by introducing to me the greatest hobby of my life. I can't thank you enough. Brian, Dominic, George and co.

Though I have no experience with CW, the flood of responses leads me to believe this is not the end of their contribution to the cycling community...I wish you guys the best in any and all future endeavors

Spencer

The folks at Cycle Works are extremely knowledgeable and have helped me out in times of stress many times in the past.

I am still shaking my head at this. John is a hell of a mechanic and one of the nicest guys I have met in the LBS world.
