Dropper post recommendations

so I was given about $375 worth of Amazon gift cards on my 50th birthday which just passed. I think I want to buy a dropper post. I've been reading reviews and apparently a lot of them are not very reliable. Looking for recommendations for one that is not too heavy and is reliable

Happy birtday Ray,
I almost crashed about 2 or 3 times on my bike with the dropper post, it's not worth the hassle, I actually got rid of it.

Ok. So I'm getting the feeling it's not a good idea? They all break after three rides and maybe can be difficult to get used to

Ray, I have a Gravity Dropper Turbo that I used for 2-3 years that had zero issues. It's one of those mechanical ones that just goes up or down. I replaced the cable on it once which was easy. For the first few months, I would always forget to use it except for rollers and really rocky downhills. After a while it became second nature, and I would basically put the seat down anytime I stood up. It took a really long time to get used to not having it on the fat bike. I will likely end up caving and getting a dropper with stealth routing (probably the Specialized Command Post) or just use the Gravity Dropper and zip tie the cable to the frame in the near future.
