Entering the fray

After 18 months of lurking on this site, I've finally joined to participate following a super-fun weekend race. I know a few of you from racing and Halter's shop. I appreciate the work involved in maintaining this site and I have been informed and amused by many of the posts.

Well, I have already violated precedent by making my first post on an existing thread (Wildcat epic 100) earlier today, rather than the customary first "new guy" thread. Anyway, there is a brief introduction and race report under the Wildcat epic thread.

I hope I can contribute.

There are some anti-Phish fans here, so watch your back. Capers and I like them though. So you have at least 2 friends in that regard.

Where you normally ride?

Welcome.

I ride 6MR, Clayton, CR, Hartshorne. Occasional trip up to the route 80 corridor. I spend time in the northern catskills where I've got some snowmobile trail loops. Regular group road rides.

Bill is an amazing rider. I have watched him jump right into mt biking as if he had been riding for 20 years. He is a monster on the road and a really nice guy to boot.

I know that he has an intense job and family but he still kicks ass on the bike.

He also contributed to my bridge building fund, which is awesome!

Thanks Bill!

This isn't the same guy you happened to pre-ride the DH40 with, is it? Just a shot in the dark, really.

Welcome dood.

"Locust The Lurker" would have been an appropriate screen name too ;-)

Will you be at the Jones Beach Shows coming up?

Jdog - thanks for endorsement. I appreciate all of your efforts at 6MR and promoting cycling in general.

capedoc - I'm not a phish fanatic, I've always liked that studio albumn, I'm too old and stuffy for the concert scene (my daughter described the heavy clouds of recreational smoke at the recent Philly concert that she attended). Screen name reflects several other points of personal interest and irony aside from the obvious musical reference.

Good deal. I do not partake in the extracurricular activities either. Nor do I care for the scene. I do see a fair share of shows though. Have always loved the performances and music.

I too can see my self becoming "too old and stuffy" for the concert scene as well. I often find my self negatively judging every one I see at shows. I am somewhat afraid of becoming a complete grumpy A-hole.

Hopefully see you on the trails soon!

I think this is the Bill that drives a pick up and rides a KM:hmmm:... If so, very strong rider

Either way, Welcome Bill

Nope. That is Billy Big Pants. Different Bill. I just looked at my cell phone and there are a lot of Bills on there.
