Hey everybody, south jersey rider who just joined mtbnj. I've been out of riding for some time after leaving the bike shop mech world in 1998. I just started riding again this past year and am psyched to have all of these resources available for NJ riders.
Once I get my post count up I'll be posting about the sale of my 2009 Gary Fisher HiFi Plus. I've only used it since March but am upgrading so I need to get rid of it.
My wife and I both ride now and are cleaning up some old cycle trails near Galloway, NJ and when they're done we'll post maps etc.
If you want a quick shot at the bike it's here: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/1960581661.html

Cool, and welcome.

Please don't post 30 times today to get your count up. 🙂

Ok, good, excellent. So where is Port Republic exactly?

See, I'm helpful sometimes.

Port Republic is near Stockton State College in South Jersey. It boarders GSP, Mullica River and Galloway. Very rural area with a lot of potential since the town likes to buy land up to keep from developers. I'll be working with the town's planning board to try and get help from IMBA to get some trails built that aren't already there.

Every town needs a plan like that and people like you to push it through.
Welcome!

My wife is a 12yr stage 4 breast cancer survivor who is currently going through treatment again. The one thing that we both can enjoy together right now is mountain biking! So we're really focused on getting proper access to the local areas for everybody.

You're in good company around here and some have even been down the same road. Cycling can help fight many diseases while it heals the body and the mind. Continued healing and health to you both.

Good to know. She was lucky enough to have Transition Bikes donate a bike for her which was really awesome, if not for that we wouldn't be riding together. She really needed a full suspension bike to soak up the bumps, her last cancers were in the spine so she needed the softer ride. They hooked her up big time along with help from SRAM and FOX.

Go ahead and post the bike for sale in the General Bike Talk section and I'll move it to the Bikes for Sale section.

And moved.

This went so well. I wish they could all be like this 🙂

incredible!

Transition, Fox and SRAM are all now on my list of companies to support. Ride on Gerry and Susan!

Welcome aboard if everyone worked this way we would lose the "rogue trail biulders" handle.
good luck.

Welcome aboard, Gerry! All of the best to you and Susan, and major props to Transition, SRAM & Fox, for their act of generosity.
