Formula 1 - 2025

Max did great yesterday with the pole lab, but blew it with the start and getting 5 second penalty. I am Max fan but today I was disappointed with his attitude after the race during the interview. The only existing part of the race today was for 8th, 9th and 10th position where Williams deployed the strategy of ensuring DRS with there drivers to keep Hadjar behind on fresher medium tires.

Oscar did what he needed to win the race today and for me he is a better contender for WDC compared to Lando who tends to make way to many mistakes.

Looking forward to Miami.

I am also disappointed in racing this year. Everyone seem to be struggling when following, including the McLaren.
 
Not really a Max fan. I liked seeing Max pouting in the corner of the Cooldown Room. Good for Oscar. If Norris can't get his shit together McLaren will have some tough choices.
 
The Ferrari back and forth was def was took the cake. The pitstop timing ended up hurting Max and George. McLaren 1,2 could have taken another pit stop and still come out ahead.

Lego cars seemed pretty cool and would love to see one in person. My boss was at the race since Wednesday and I'm curious to see his comments when he gets back.
 
First Miami race that I enjoyed watching. The battle between the Oscar, Lando and Max was great to watch. You lose some and win some with safety car. George benefitted from the safety car which allowed get a pit stop that was 10sec shorter and allowed him to get ahead of Max.

You can always rely on Ferrari pit wall to provide comedic relief from the tense battle.

I think Liam is done after the summer break, just not sure who is available.

Couple of weeks ago I had seen smaller Formula1 Lego cars at Costco. You can still get the Red Bull and Ferrari ones online at Costco.

I usually watch the full start for a bit and just jump to the 30min summary. But this race pulled me in for the 2 hrs.
Amazing pass by Lando for P2. Glad to see Yuki and the Williams doing good.
Love the LH - "why don't you have a cup of tea" & "should i let him pass too"
Poor LH, he had a chance for one more P when his tires were still fresh. FREAKING Ferrari!

Everyone hating on Lance Stroll for not enjoying the Lego or even waving. What a spoiled arrogant rich boy
 
It was definitely a good race for a change in Miami. The last couple years were a high speed parade.
The weather made the sprint race interesting as well with the changes from wet to dry tires.
The Lego cars were awesome, there was a good segment on the pre race show from the Lego factory

Silverstone was wicked! So happy for NH and enjoyed drivers and team celebrating him!
 
I guess the decline in performance at RBR and the potential of losing Max forced them to make decision.

Edit: I wonder if there is any gardening leave if not would he pop up at Alpine, since they are looking for TP.

Horner always tended to favor the lead driver, Seb, Jensen, Max, etc. Now, you can't have two quarterbacks and someone always has to be second string.

That's always has been the case so what changed now? Max is still the lead favored driver, especially after Daniel left in 2018/19. Looking forward to the full story when it comes out. If he is fired he might be able to go work for another team considering so far nothing has been mentioned about gardening leave. Could we see him at Alpine at the Belgium race or even Cadillac in 2026?

  1. RedBull are gearing up to sell the main Red Bull Racing and only run one team Visa CashApp RB going forward and removal of Horner makes it easy to sell especially if the buyer have someone with TP experience already in the group (Otmar Szafnauer). If I remember reports from previous years I believe Horner had attempted to purchase RBR with investment group.
  2. Horner did something similar to last year or there is new evidence related to last year.
  3. The 2026 engine is behind the curve, over promised under deliver situation.
  4. If various articles are accurate Max was looking outside RBR and this could be one way to say stay with RBR and we will get rid of Horner.
  5. Before passing of Dietrich Mateschitz Horner had free hand on how RBR was run with none of the corporate oversight but after DM's passing RBR had corporate oversight for the first time leading to power struggle with HQ in Austria.
I think it's combination of 3 and 5 which might have lead to his firing.

I wonder if he now puts together a investment group to buy Alpine or 12th team (if approved) and take over the TP role similar to Toto.
