I’m reluctantly selling my 2010 Nissan Xterra Off Road 6 speed manual with 143k miles. I’ve owned it since new and it has been dead reliable the entire time. It’s a beast in the snow, taking me safely through storms in Vermont for snowboarding, up Cherry Ridge road in Wawayanda after an 8” snowfall to go fatbiking, on the beach at OBX to see the horses, roof-topped 4 kayaks to Lake George, moved my kids to/from college (Pittsburgh, Columbus) with all their stuff, towed a Hobie Cat from VT to PA. Countless amazing adventures. It can swallow 1-3 bikes inside, depending on frame/wheel size. For reference in the pics, I've stowed my XL 29er FS with 140mm fork and riser stem and handlebars with room to spare.

Asking price: $6,500 or best offer; smelly KEEN sandals and moldy PFD in roof wetbox not included. Carfax lists it as $7,800- $8,100. KBB shows private party of $6,200.
Reason for selling: Daughter leaving the nest and we need to downsize by 1 car. My wife is not keen to maintain a car that she can’t drive, so I’ll be inheriting my daughter’s CVT Subaru
Location: Morristown
Contact: via MTBNJ IM and I'll IM you my email and cell
Full equipment/features description: See pic of the window sticker
Condition, Service History and Other Details: See below and attached Carfax
  • Summary: I am the first and only owner. Regularly maintained since new and have all service records. Everything on/in the vehicle works. Nothing is non-operative. Garage kept. Black exterior; grey cloth interior with red accents. Shortly after buying the truck, I backdated the front end with a 2009 bumper and grille since I prefer that style. I still have the original 2010 bumper and grille, which is included in the sale. Inspection sticker valid till April 2025.
  • Exterior Condition: Paint is in very good shape. No body rust, paint still shines and beads after a wash/wax. A few superficial scratches and one tiny door ding. Rear metal bumper has a dent and some rust spots near the license plate lights (a common issue with Xterras). Rooftop wet box is fully functional (great for carrying damp stuff back from the beach or trail until you can wash it all at home)
  • Interior Condition: Seats and carpets are spotless. No rips, tears or stains. I used Cabella covers whenever doing outdoor stuff, so they've been protected. Some minor wear on front seat bottom bolsters. Plastic surfaces are in good shape other than the rear cargo area which has a number of scrapes on the sides (because mountain bike), though the cargo bed, entire headliner and ceiling are excellent. Visors, seat adjustments/folding all work perfectly. No odors, never smoked in, never any pets. Comes with Nissan rubber floor mats as well as Xterra carpeted floor mats.
  • Mechanical: 4 Liter, V6, 261 hp, 281 lb fit torque, 4 wheel drive (lo/hi), 4 wheel ABS, 4 wheel limited slip. Engine bay is far from spotless as you can imagine, but motor pulls strong, clutch engages smoothly and shifter snicks into every gear cleanly. My indy estimates it’s got another 100K in her. It’s not unusual for these trucks, if well maintained, to go 200k-250k miles. However he does recommend servicing the transfer case at some point.
  • Electronics: 6 disc CD Rockford Fosgate 8 speaker stereo with Aux jack. Bluetooth Phone enabled, 3 12V outlets, cruise control. Everything works, including all interior and exterior lights
  • Tires: Tires have about 50K miles on them but tread remains healthy. Firestone Duelers are the longest lasting tires I’ve ever had and are amazing in the snow. They have some cupping that you can hear at highway speeds. Truck has a full size steelie spare behind the hitch, which I only needed to use once.
  • Wheels: Wheels are true (no bends/dents) but do have some crazing in the finish. This is not curb rash (you couldn’t curb these wheels if you tried), but according to my detailer is the result of the clear coat breaking down and water from power washing/car washes and road grime disrupting the finish.
  • Utility: Shortly after buying it, I installed an aftermarket 2” Curt hitch along with a 4-pin trailer wiring harness. After a few years, the black hitch finish began to flake and develop surface rust (typical for Curts) so I sanded and black taped it. Rear cargo area has Utilitrack channel system with movable tie downs and 4 ceiling mounted utility hooks. I’ll include the wide Yakima load bars that you see in the pics along with various spare Yakima rack parts. The load bars are wide enough to carry up to 4 stacked kayaks or 4-5 bikes.
  • Suspension: Rides perfectly fine, steers straight with no vibrations, although still on original shocks and struts
  • Accidents: 2, both cited on the CarFax as minor/moderate. 1 parking lot swipe in 2015 by a Uhaul while I was stopped, required replacing the driver’s side front quarter panel. 1 low speed (stoplight) collision in 2017 that required replacing the front bumper, radiator and hood. All work professionally done by Salerno Duane body shop in Summit NJ. I have the work order for the first accident, but can't find the one for the 2nd.
  • Recent service: In addition to regular oil changes/filters: New plugs at 105K; new rear brakes and AC condenser at 121K; coolant flush at 127k; new AC compressor at 134K; new battery at 137k.
  • Miscellaneous: Two keys and remote fobs, valet key, Lowes-sourced carpet in rear cargo area to prevent surface scratches and catch dirt/moisture from bikes

Window Sticker and CarFax attached. I can provide full Carfax PDF via email. Note that for some reason Carfax shows the truck as an "S" model. "S" is a lower trim level than the "OR" (OffRoad). As you can see from the window sticker, mine is an OR. Note that Carfax lists an open recall. This is from Feb 2023 and relates to the steering wheel emblem that could crack. Carfax also states Nissan is still developing a remedy.

I am a Nissan Fan. We have 2011 Xterra SV 220.000 miles, not a single issue, besides mice chewing wires one year.
You have a nice clean car. GLWS
