Generic Pro Road Cycling Thread

They don’t advertise it… but “Max” has live and replay cycling coverage (hidden under the “B & R” tab) of many of the spring races. Been enjoying Tour of the Alps this week.
Their menu blows. Redbulls wasn’t much better, it it was a little.

UCI pro Men’s XCO was yesterday. No spoilers but Matthias Fluckinger was on the start line one week after appendicitis and undergoing a laparoscopic appendectomy. Insane.

On this topic, anyone have any opinions on going up to Lake Placid for the world cup and the end of the month?

I was surprised how strong he looked. It’s definitely good to see him back. Too bad he missed most of the classics.
He hasnt ridden most of them before anyways, but he surely would have done the early season stage races. Hopefully we will see him at Flanders in the coming years.

Alaphilippe raced like he always has. One of the riders that makes current road racing fun to watch:

“I’m satisfied - I have no regrets. I raced on instinct and really wanted to anticipate Tadej’s move. But he also sort of anticipated himself, so it made things a bit tricky for me,” laughs the Tudor Pro Cycling Team star in his post-race interview afterwards. “I felt good, and like I said this morning: I don’t want to finish with regrets. So I think it was the right moment. Afterwards, I needed a bit of time to recover, and that meant I just missed out on making the right group. It is what it is.”

I love the way he races, I just wish he was still strong enough to make it interesting. But burning a match and attacking right before a climb is definitely a questionable decision with Tadej there.

Then again, you could look at it like he caused Tadej to go early and caused him to crack 15k before the finish. (At least that’s what Tadej said).

Tom Pidcock once the real season started:

Third at Fleche but other wise not even a player. Meanwhile Wout gets 2 4th's and 2 second's and press says he is washed up.
