Sounds like you're setting the bar pretty low there...I had never seen you on a SC before, in any case looks like you should buy more Specs...I weigh less than Leo. Heeheeheee.

@jimvreeland , is this happening because @thegock switched to a Santa Cruz bike? Big ouch...

It's a misleading article. They didn't cut the Ambassador Program, in fact they did quite the opposite and expanded it by about 3x. They did however cut a bunch of paid influencers that were not doing their jobs...
My entire adult life I have only talked shite about Cannonwhale, second only to Shimano.I think another part of this that everyone is missing is all of the Retail Stores purchased in the past year plus. With all of those Employees having access to any Specialized Product as a Demo for FREE, they've essentially acquired 1,000s of Ambassadors that are already on their Payroll. I will have a billion times more influence on what someone in our area buys than someone living the Van Life in Arizona or whatever posting photos of a drop bar MTB next to a cactus.
People just love to hate Specialized because it's super easy. No one said shit when Cannondale dumped their whole team last year.

Did they buy the building you are in? Thats the real business. Id like to see their lease portfolio. The building you are in is prolly crazy high per square foot.
Our rent isn't that bad. Although the Landlord did double it when Specialized took over the Lease because he could. Our Landlord owns that big farm on the top of Pickle Road in Pottersville, I'll stop in and say hi sometimes.
agreed. Ill never know the answer, but I'm super curious how the negotiations went. I know in the residential world this could be construed as discrimination but I guess that theory falls apart for business leasing.. what's your product, profit, average yrs at location, etc.Doubling rent is huge which indicates to me the last owner was getting a sweet heart deal or he had some weird long term lease deal or Specialized decided to go shorter than the landlord is accustomed to. Even those longer leases can be structured with escalating rent to cover increased cost. I wonder how long that commitment?
Im not uber shocked Specialized didn’t go after the properties at all. That comes at cost facilities team or out sourcing a facilities company. They have adopted a huge work force😳

way off topic.. carry on

What was the influencers actually compensation? 20% on bikes / parts / gear? Or were some of them actually paid? The other other side of this is that if the influencers haven't done anything to make people not hate Specialized, what's the point? We'll stick to selling S-Works to Dentists, it's so much easier.
