Hartshorne Group Ride, BBQ, & Pool Party - July 17, 2010

How long do you plan on riding? My nephew's Graduation party is that day, but I would love to at least be able to pull off the ride portion....

Hey Pat. We can be very flexable about when you need to bail. The park(s) are not that big, and bail points are easily found.

Welcome to the party Sue!

Oh and like I said earlier, Mare, I'll be bringing pesto pasta salad and Bill will be bringing some brews. Thanks again Brian and Sue for hosting!!

Brian asked "what hoops did you have to jump through?"
Well, they weren't exactly hoops, but there were questions that I really couldn't answer. I was asked "what's your favorite ride?". Since I don't ride, I answered "Brian". Then I was asked "what's your favorite trails?" I dorked out and said "happy ones".
Yup. And you're stuck with me now, folks.

Haha!! Welcome to the forums!!

Glad HumanVise will try to come. I hope you can make it work!

Up next, HARTSHORNE GROUP RIDE, BBQ, and POOL PARTY! This is going to be a GREAT TIME that you will not want to miss! New faces are encouraged to join us, so don’t be shy!

Hartshorne Woods Park
July 17, 2010
9:00 a.m. (arrive a bit early to get ready so we can begin to pedal by 9:00)
Parking at Henry Hudson High School (next to the upper lot)
1 Grand Tour, Highlands, NJ 07732

After our ride we will caravan over to Brian Snyder’s house for a BBQ and POOL PARTY! Oh, and there’s a hot tub too!

Bring your bathing suit, a towel, and something yummy to share. We will need things such as snacks, salads, side dishes, and desserts. BYOB! An extra fridge is available for storage.

Brian and his wife, Sue, are graciously providing burgers, hotdogs, chicken, grilled veggies, rolls, condiments, ice, soda, water, Coors Light, cutlery and cups. I will bring enough plates and napkins for an army (courtesy of LightBringer), veggie burgers, and some sort of other snacks (TBD).

RSVP PLEASE! I know you are all a bunch of last minute slackers, but we’d like to get an idea of how many people will attend so we can plan ahead as much as possible. If you can make it, please post here to let us know. If you cannot decide until last minute, we understand, but please do your best to let us know as soon as possible.

Post up here what you plan to bring and I'll consolidate as we go along or email me with any questions/comments at mare@jorba.org.

I hope to see you on July 17th!!

Hey Mare, is this still popping? i would like to attend and bring some Polish Kielbasa.
wanted to revive the post since it got pushed off to the second page and i see we got a lot of new MTBNJers.

Yes, this is still happening. Hopefully as we get closer to the date, folks will post more and things will liven up 🙂

Glad you can join us!

Ride & BBQ : This Saturday!

Hi Everyone! I've been watching the posts and working on my "To Do" list in anticipation of this weekend's BBQ.

Thanks so much to everyone who's offered to bring something along. I'll post a list of everything we have so far in a couple of days.

Just want to add: don't fear rain. Even if some comes, it'll be warm. And we have a 20' x 10' canopy that covers about half of our deck, so we can at least keep the food dry! No worries😎

Be back soon!

hi guys,

my fiance and i would love to join you and meet everyone but she is concerned a little that she will not be able to keep up. She has 1+ years of trail riding under her belt but she cant make through the whole park without breaks. let us know if that won't be a problem and if not what should we bring. We can bring a BANGING :drooling: cheesecake but we would have to put it in the fridge before the ride.

Thanks

Marta and Luke

Hi Luke,

I am sure she will be fine for Saturday. I am talking with some folks now to figure out the logitistics of the ride (or rides in case we decide to split up) and I will post up more details ASAP so people know what to expect.

Cheesecake is delicious!!!

Cheesecake??? I'll walk for that.😀

No worries jerzey111, by all means bring the fiance, I know my way around that park and can hang with ya if need be.

Howdy! This is a little reminder to RSVP if you plan to attend this ride on Saturday. It's approaching fast, so it's time to figure out how you can get out of the other commitments that you don't want to be stuck in anyway so you can join us!

Unless something changes I will be there for the ride portion then must beat it back home. What is the address of the parking area so I can enter it into my GPS?

FYI, everyone is welcome to join! I am confirming that the pace will be determined by the group and if we need to split into 2 groups, we will.
