Hidden Valley Cyclocross!

I'm sure everyone could care less, but NOT racing Saturday is killing me!
The BIG race this weekend is in Northampton, Ma. Northampton is 2 hours and 30 minutes from us. My race is at 9:30 which means we would have to either stay over night (really expensive) or leave at like 4:30am Saturday morning. My call up would put me in the back row of nearly 80 riders. At Gloucester I started on the last row of 85 and passed like 40 riders and took a huge hit on Crossresults.com 😡 The other alternative is to race @ The Amity Horror in Amity, Pa which is 3+ hours from home with my start time 11:00 and only 3 riders signed up! Sunday is a must do race at Hidden Valley

Bear Creek Day 1:

Not far at all. Part of the PA series.

44 Breakneck Road
Vernon, NJ

This doesn't appear to be the location we raced last year?
I remember it being farther down the road and it had a pond - not actually at the ski resort - anybody know if it is really at the ski place?

It is up the hill from the ski area, same as last year. Enter the main parking lot and then follow the road at the bottom right side of the lot up the hill to the top.

Parking may be limited this year. Depending on how much the field where we normally park people has dried out. We may have to park along the road and/or at the bottom lot. Good warmup climbing the hill🙂!

Car pool if possible!

I don't think we will have running water by the registration area this year unfortunately. You can always wash in the lake!

Snow is all gone! The course is a lot dryer than I expected. There's probably going to be a good bit of muddy stuff but nothing heinous. We should also have sufficient parking on the field, still carpool if possible.

Thanks to Town Cycle, Larry Towner and everyone from the NJCX for putting this race together. The course was excellent, perfect conditions and very tough!

The course was a lot of fun. A little bit of everything, mud, corners, hills, a log. This was my second cx race and I felt a lot better this time around. I got a nice start and didn't get too caught up except when someone fell right in front of my twice. I can't wait for Sussex county.

i had a great time. i was kind of worried the course was going to be lame, since it was in a parking lot, but you guys pulled it off. great work.

Thanks everybody, for putting this on and coming out. Beautiful day! The course was awesome. First CX race and now I'm hooked.
Cheers

Yes. Hard to believe races went off on what was covered with feet of snow the weekend before. Great job with the course promoters!🙂

p.s. thanks to all those that cheered for me. I was unable to complete my race, but was amazed on all the cheering and support during my few laps. You guys and gals are the best!

Let it be said that playing a game of pickup soccer the day before a CX race is a BAD idea. I feel like I've been beaten up by one of the black bears that was roaming around the course...

Fun, hard race! Thanks to all the organizers for putting it on.

Hope you feel better Pix 🙁

Thanks to everyone who came and raced today. I hope everyone had a good time. And special thanks to all the Team Town Cycle members who helped out. It's those volunteers that make local races like this possible!

Larry and all involved with the race - great job yesterday. You all did a wonderful job shoveling all that snow off the field. 🙂

Thanks!
