How did you find this forum and how long have you been on?

Yes, but they still cost $$, plus my 2 car garage is almost a no car garage. That is making my wife very unhappy. Hopefully my kids don't take to park riding because...
You have to get creative, and have patience. I have lots of bikes + numerous other things, all inside the garage. I don't know how, but I actually park a BMX bike in the house next to the tread mill.

Man, my garage is a disaster. You know you're old when you see someone's garage all organized and clean and you get jealous!

I knew it was some time in 2010, but had to check to see it was in December specifically. I don't remember exactly how I found this site, but I know I was previously using the Dirt Rag forum, which entertainingly often descended into a manic, paranoia-fueled, mysoginistic hate-speech filled shit-show - nearly all of it contained within their (in hindsight) "poorly" conceived sub-forum called "Politics". In the end I think the mag's decision to focus more of its content online led to the elimination of the forums altogether, which made sense - if you wanted to have a party in your new home, you'd probably get rid of any giant, steaming piles of diarrhea in the entry way left behind by the previous squatters before inviting the world in, right?

It wasn't all bad, though - their "Art" sub-forum featured a lot of work from some of their more popular artists. For those unfamiliar, for most of its run, Dirt Rag was proudly crowd-sourced in a lot of its content. One of the most popular elements of this was that untuil the last few years of its life the covers were always subscriber-submitted artwork, some of which are iconic, like this one:

Yeah, via MTBR. I do remember a flap on that site about new site MTBNJ and them being a bunch of assholes. Intrigued me to visit and they were right. Been a MTBNJ asshole ever since, maybe 2008ish? Total noob with noob posts (even still to this day) but was a great tool as I got deep into racing around then. H2H and MASS series.

And our first ride together you almost got smushed by a FedEx truck 😂

Hahahaha oh man I completely forgot about that day! Dyckman, dance fighting, box trucks, and first time meeting any of you fools... it's all been downhill ever since 😀

I joined this group November 2007 after logging into MTBR, @Panhead told me about MTBNJ.

Those where the Heydays of message boards & posting, it was new and exciting...way more interactive then an email group. Also we where all younger and most of us where just getting into cycling. I had been a roadie but there was no way to connect with others and share info with others before the website. FB wasn't really a thing back then, now it is, along with IG.

The bar is set much higher for social media today, you got to set your self on fire, nakid and nose wheelie into a 100' gap jump to get attention, and for that you get a click of an emoji. Interaction is limited and good information can be hard to find, yes there is more but also more garbage.

Despite all that, this place is still a good source of info with real talk, usually...imo. Social media is fun but the real connections happen in person, on the trail.

See use on the trail.

October 2008 via a friend. Prior to that I thought Allaire was just a holiday train ride.

Back for the second time August 2010. However, I my first pass was when it opened which I found out about off of the ole Tristate Sportbike (TSSB) days courtesy of @Jason.
And after all these years and all the owners, I managed to snag up the original tssb domain.
