Hello everyone!! I am new to this site and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Anthony Trumbauer and I live in Portland, PA (right by the Delaware Water Gap) and work in Morris Plains, NJ. So I have easy access to most of Northern NJ's great trails. I have been riding in PA since I was in High school, but never really took it that serious. I just liked to get out in the wilderness and have fun on my fatbike. Since I sit in an office all day, my metabolism is starting to slow a bit, due to my lack of physical activity throughout the day. So, I've decided to start riding more frequently and am racing in the Mooch Madness event this weekend to get my feet wet. I love the sport of mountain biking, and thought I could use it to keep myself from becoming morbidly obese.
I'm actually neighbors with another member(Portland Rider), I try to ride with him as much as i can. It's not a pretty site, as it looks like he could be drinking a cup of coffee and reading the newspaper while I sound like a fat kid in gym class gasping for air up the hills. :drooling:
I'm more of an all mountain rider then an XC guy, as my equipment reflects this also. To be honest, I am not in good cardio shape at all, I've only been training for 8 days:hmmm:, and my fatbike is a 6.5" all mountain rig. So, All I'm looking for in this event is to see what its like and to look at it as a 4 hour ride with my freinds. I definately won't be competive, this will be my cherry popper. I look forward to meeting some people this weekend, I'll be the guy with the chicken legs, a white Rocky Mountain Slayer, and a lasso so Dan can pull me around the track :hitsfan:
