Is this America?

Well its a good thing we have people like you take the moral and intellectual high-ground to tell the other half how wrong and they really were, what can possibly go wrong?
I don't care how people feel. They can protest all they want. I just don't think the POTUS should encourage violence.

I was going to post some of his quotes. But google "trump quotes inciting violence" and there is an endless list. Too much work.

A group of clowns, armed clowns at that, shouldn't be able to take over a part of Portland Oregon either. I'd like to hear an explanation as to why that was allowed to persist, with no arrests either. Where was the outrage there? I'm also willing to bet both disparate groups would give a very similar explanation for their actions. Oh, I believe someone was killed in the Capital building. I'd say that's worse than an arrest.
I’m curious, what does Portland or any other riot (Newark, watts, rodney king, take your pick) have anything to do with the people who went into the capital yesterday. I am not trying to be a devil’s advocate, I just want to know, “what the fuck does one have to do with another?“
I keep hearing people saying that. Enlighten me!

Does everything need to be spelled out for you in the Constitution? It spells out the framework for our freedoms. That's the thing with freedom, you have the freedom to win or lose. Just because you think you lost, doesn't mean its unfair, or some factor was stacked against you. I guess it also provides you with the freedom to make excuses.

Spell it out homie, there is nothing unamerican about socialism, social security, and Medicare is socialism and among the most popular programs in this country if not the most.

Yet because someone says it socialism suddenly were Venezuela, and that couldn't be further from the truth. Get out of the way of progress and stop considering someone who doesn't agree with you as stupid.

Call me evil that I want kids not to be in cages or want people to have a fair shot at winning without the influence of where they're from or who their money and daddy is.

As to whether or not the idiots yesterday had the ability to "seize power":

-The stopped the US Congress from performing their electoral college responsibilities
-The put the lives of all of those serving in Congress at grave risk.
-Their stated purpose (if it's possible to nail down a singular message from the sea of morons) was to "stop the steal". Otherwise known as prevent the lawful transition of power. When you're doing that via a security gate used as a battering ram against the doors to the chambers of Congress...yeah, I'm cool with using the term "insurrection".

So you actually believe that the most powerful country in the history of this planet can be taken down by 50 unarmed clowns storming the capital building. Seriously? LOL!

Burning down anything is wrong. Period.

But, can you point me to evidence where Democratic leaders have encouraged such behavior?

I'd have to go back and find the specific source, but various Democrat leadership were specifically ordering prosecutors to not pursue charges related to protesting. Vandalism, resisting arrest, inciting, stuff like that.
Example:

It's a more minor example but in the midst of NJ's most aggressive lockdown period where the government was handing out exorbitant fines for "non-compliance", large scale protests were not just permitted but attended by such luminary's as our governor.

My main concern is you're entrusting the winner and losers to the government. Which, more and more, does not have the public's interest at heart.

The government does have value, such as imposing regulation when business gets out of hand, like Dupont dumping chemicals into rivers, say. And I'm not saying capitalism is the best way to run an economy. And (getting a little introspective here) growing up with the USSR as the big baddie, and seeing how horrible they were to their populace, my generation considers such an arrangement abhorrent.
