following this altitude topic with great interest.
For My cancer charity event ride coming up in September I’ll be riding from Salt Lake City UT to Denver CO. We will be riding through Gore pass which I know is at around 9500ft elevation.
Aside from one time riding a MTB in the alps when I was fat about 10 years ago, have never really done anything at elevation low or high impact so this is the only X factor for my training the last few months. All The coaches have said that we will ride at a moderate pace to help manage the elevation impacts. Speaking specifically to my coach he feels like based on where my fitness is as according to the plan I should be fine. Not sure if that is valid perspective but they have done this event and this segment a few times.
So I can report back (in my charity event blog) how it impacts me. Hopefully I do not end up in the support van because I end up struggling too much.
