Mercer County Park Conditions

I used to ride Mercer, but could never figure out how to get to the other side of the park. This was back in 2005 or so, so the trail may have been shorter. Is there a map of the full park?

Yeah, you have to go on the paved fitness trail for a short period to get to the other side. Each side has a different feel to it. @michael.su may have the current map, I will let him chime. I plan to start riding here more again this year as i can swing it as a lunch ride but it is definitely one of those parks that gets old pretty quick.

I rode Sunday and Monday after work, but it's rained since. I only use the cross bike there. It's a lot of fun but it does get old quick if you're used to more hills and tech stuff. But some areas but you can really hammer down some good speed on the yellow trails. Bob n weave bob n weave. Norm if you ever head this way I'm sure some of us that know the park well will give you the tour if you want. I grew up In this park riding trails n chasing musky. Anywho behind the dam wasent bad at all when I went. Basically what's usually wet was wet. The red trail closer to the marina was all dry. And I can't get myself to ride the blue with the cross but I'd assume it's nasty wet. Anyone ever wana go PM me!

Mercer tours always available just ask...full monty is 15+ miles. Willing to show anyone around the best the park has to offer. Knowing the good routes/trails helps a lot here.

My girlfriends place is 5 minutes from the park and Rusty is right about knowing the best route to take it helps out big time.

Damn, I had no idea. I'd like to actually ride this park 1 day.

This is the latest map:

There are a lot of connector/side trails. Most are on the map, some aren't.
Like everyone said, you can get a good 15 mile loop or so. No hills to speak of but lots of log overs and some of the tightest twistiest single track around. Bring your wide bars 😀
I'm game for a tour any time, hit me up.

Well back then people would cut thru the golf course... I'm not going to lie and say I never did it... I wouldn't do it again

ah, remember waiting until the golfers teed off on 17 (west course) so you can begin riding along the edge of the lake.... lost a sizable chunk of the trail system when they built the east course, was usually muddy but fun with logs everywhere

I did it a few times and it was never really worth the unmaintain sections on either side of the golf course

^ I agree. I just got back from a post Easter candy spin with my boy. Nearly perfect out there on the sections that we rode.
I only rated it a 3 because I didn't ride enough of it consider it a 4 imo but it may just be there. Go get some.

Just rode all the south side including Van Nest. East Picnic area, Holy Grail, Blue and Son of Blue, to the rowing center, back to West Picnic area.
Perfect spring conditions, Skunk Cabbage is popping, the peepers are wailing... Get out there!

It was decent? Looking to go tomorrow late morning somewhere and Mercer's a geographical top pick. Hoping for a 2nd opinion because... well it's Mercer after a few soggy days... Anyone, Anyone... Buehler, Buehler...

It was dry in Wednesday and I live in the area and we didn't get all that much rain.
