Thanks for checking in. I am riding, just have not had the time to be posting about it and really nothing is "happening" to post about anyways. I am getting dumped at work enough taht I actually had to work OT last week and some this week also. Next week calms down and the bosses are out of the office, so may be things will free up a bit.

I do have a short term goal of reaching 2000 miles by the end of march, which keeps me on track for 8000 miles this year. My only goal was to ride more than last year and so far I have suceeded and am up by 25 or 30%

that sucks that you actually have to work, i couldn't imagine 😉

I was thinking about that the other day. I can be very productive when I want to be, however I also lower the bar for myself as once you raise the bar, you are expected to always work up to that level.

I am a firm believer in aiming low and achieving your goals. I once even had senior management buy-in on that philosophy in a planning session. You take a roller-coaster approach and you are better off, do really well, then slack some, otherwise they will keep moving that bar on you.

yeah, i learned that pretty early on. You also have to weigh-in the reward to level of effort ratio. I am at the point now that the reward for "killing it" is limited due to the economic environment, so why should I kill myself to see limited rewards?

In my group we like to say "victim of your own competence" but it's really true...Once you're known as the go-to, it never stops...
