Going to KT next week for three days. Looking for ‘must ride‘ recommendations. So far routes I have include Sidewinder, Bllack Bear, Hogback, Widow Maker, Jaw, and Moose Alley. Still putting together routes north of the restricted areas. thanks for recommendations.

Make sure you ride Black Bear. You can park in that area or ride Flower Brook from Moose Alley. You'll want to hit Black Bear about 3 times, assuming your legs will be able to pedal up fire road that many times.

Upper black bear should be sessioned at least 3 times in a row
The correct way to do it for the first timer is:
1st run - Black bear - OMG that was amazing.
2nd run - Stormin Normin - OMG, that was amazing, but not as good as Black Bear. Weird, I'm sore.
3rd run - Black Bear - OMG. Everything hurts, I'm not sure I can do it again. I have to.
4th run - Black Bear - OMG. Everything hurts. I want to climb that hill so badly and do it again but I can't.

What 3 days will you be there?

A few buddies and I are heading up to KT from 8/12-8/15, staying at Wildflower Inn. It has been 10+ years since I've been back here so look forward to the return as I saw on the map there is now a small circuit up where I remember just an empty field was. Going to try some night runs and if techie enough do it with a GoPro.

Black bear as a whole is ok but specifically upper black bear section is by far the best bang for your buck and the climb back up isn't horrible as opposed to going all the way down

I remember Dead Moose Alley was super fun decent, but grueling to climb to get to it.

We stayed at the Wildflower Inn six years ago. Great time in an excellent location.

Are you a current JORBA member?

These questions do have a purpose.
Not anymore. I let my membership lapse in Oct’20. I’m an IMBA member with Palisades MTB, I plan to rejoin the next time my credit card and opportunity presents itself or I’m nudged hard enough. Which sounds lame, but my thought track isn’t known for its robust qualities

Here's my offer.

Join today:

And I will personally ride with you next week at Kingdom Trails and show you around a little.

Just rejoined, included auto renewal. Would love to ride with some people and get insider knowledge. Let coordinate.

I will be in Vermont starting this Friday and bounce around a bit until I end up in East Burke on Tuesday. We have the house there Tue-Sun so our whole team will be there.

When do you get in? I'll DM you my number so we can link up. And given the membership level you just joined at, I may need to offer more than 1 tour. Thanks for supporting!
