Hey everyone! I am new to mountain biking and new to the forums. I am looking for any semi beginner riders that would be interested in riding in the burlington/camden county area. I have no idea where decent trails and could use the advice, as well as someone that can give me some pointers to beginning riding. Thanks all!

welcome to the site. pretty sure JORBA is doing so work down in that area...can't remember where...but hopefully someone will chime in.

Welcome!

Take a look here for some trails in your nape of the woods.

The only one near me is the Black Run Preserve and it is saying page unavailable... 🙁 I have heard Gloucester County College has some nice trails. Can anyone confirm that?

Gloucester County College (GCC) does have nice trails. Ceres Park in Mantua and Camden County College are also good nearby choices.

confirmed!

As for pointers...stay loose and have fun. It helps to always smile 😀

I dont know if Allaire state park is too far to travel, but there is a beginner ride there every Tuesday and we have a blast! You will certainly have a lot of people trying to give you pointers there.

Welcome aboard keep an eye on the rides section of this site for more info on rides.

Welcom to the site.

The SJ places here: http://www.mtbnj.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=15

Some you've already mentioned. For beginner rides, CCC would be good. One place that's not listed is the Kresson Trails in Cherry Hill. Located at the intersection of Kresson and Springdale Roads.

Another choice for beginner trails would be GCC. However, the roots can beat you up. There's a MTB race at GCC on 7/7. The D&Q race team is running a ride on Tuesday nights at 6:30pm.

Ceres has everything for the beginner to the seasoned rider.

Kurt how is Ceres Park? It is only about 20 minutes from me so it interests me. I have been looking at pics of the ride and it does not seem too technical. Please keep in mind I am new to this sport, I used to road cycle for many years but mountain biking is brand new to me. Furthermore I will be going by myself on Sunday morning and don't want to take on anything that I cant happen as I will not have anyone with me. Thanks. 😀

I recommend riding with a buddy at any of the listed locations until you are comfortable with your skills. jdurk, mikep, sj_john and others are up that way. Give them a shout and you might get a tour and some riding tips.

Most likely a good call. I will post something in the rides threads and see if anyone would want to join me. Thanks again.
