New To Riding

Hey all:

I am a new mountain bike rider and new to the site. Does anyone know of trails around the Basking Ridge area or in Somerset County? I look forward to getting into the sport and maybe someday entering a race who knows.
 
First ride

Went to Lewis Morris park for my first ride. I know it is ranked as beginner but it have to admit it was not that easy for me. Started at the lake and was on the yellow, red , orange, green, and blue trail not really knowing where I was going but ended up back at the lake with the help of the map. I thlought there was a good amount of hills and rocks and roots. Guess I better stay there for a long time before I try an intermediate trail.
 
it was hot today you need to factor that in...but keep at it the more you ride the better it gets some of the more southern parks are a bit more beginner friendly with the climbs...
 
Hey whats going on man, yeah lewis morris park i would say def will give you a little struggle a bit lol, i have been there 2 times already and six mile run as well...
 
Thanks for the encouragement, gonna keep up with it even if it takes me a long time to get into the swing of it.

We have a nice beginner ride ever Tuesday, at Allaire.
6 mile run is a nice trail as well.
 
Welcome aboard. I was at Lewis Morris for the first time on Sunday, nice park. Have to go back when it's not so Hot...
