Thanks to MST.ESQ, who I met Tuesday as I was locking up my commuter rig just outside a PATH station. MST.ESQ convinced me that my bike has too much theft appeal. I have not ridden to that station since. I thought I'd just paint over the frame and wheels (this is a road frame with drop h-bars). Mr ESQ advised that defacing a soma frame was a chargable offense. I did not think it was too bad a solution since I got the bike used for $300. I have since found different "removeable paint" options, the cheapest being a $7 spray can of Dupli Color black paint available at Auto Zone.

I'll post some before and after pics. Hopefully my rig won't get stolen and I'll eventually get to post some restored shots too.

And thanks for all the 'welcome aboard our board' messages.

what messages???? 🙄

Clifton...mmh...used to live there....few Cliftonians on the site...

ok...Welcome.

Don't let the $300 price tag fool you. It was a bright deep blue color, full Ultegra, DT Swiss, etc... One beautiful bike!

If anyone else here commutes via Harrison, you must also have noticed that anything worth $400 or more gets stripped to the frame within a week. It is a shame not being able to ride a nice bike to NYC during rush hour on the PATH due to bike restrictions.

Welcome and glad to see you on the board!
