now that the clocks changed anyone else out there still riding? my riding season continues. Going to do like 3 night rides a week after work.

With all the activities my kids are involved in, it may be my only option for the next couple of months.....

Dirt ride before work 3-4 days a week. Road ride after work with Mrs. Oleg on Tandem 5 days a week.

Keep the batteries charged.

See you out there.

Definitely. I love riding at night. Sometimes, I'll even carry extra batteries so I can stay out later if I want. Usually get out about 4 nights during the week, weather permitting.

how do you see in the dark at night? i mean my eyes adjust but its still so dark!

Just bought my first set of lights - not sure where to ride yet, but JH was one of the options we were looking at...

I'm slow and clumsy during the day -- can't even imagine how slow and clumsy I'm going to be at night LOL

i have lights but now that night vision goggles are so cheap i wonder what that would be like.

It'll be pretty similar with most of today's lights -- the only difference is that you are usually a little bit slower overall because if you have any long downhills, you can't see the same disatance in front of you which makes you a bit more cautious. Other than that, most lights today are bright enough where it's like daylight in front of you for about 25 feet. It may take some getting used to, but it gets really fun really fast.

Night vision goggles would be great unless other riders are using lights. bad mix.

How many people ride by themselves at night?

I ride by myself on the road at night all winter. My area however, I think riding at night is actually safer than during the day...

Now if I can only kick this lung exasperation, I'll be back out there.

I only ride by myself at night. Once you get over the whole "Alone in the woods" willies, it's actually a lot of fun. For me, riding at night makes me hyper focused and I actually go almost as fast as I do during the day with LESS wrecks. Go figure.

Edit: This is misleading. What I meant to say was.... If I ride at night, I do so alone.

Mainly road but have done off road too. But never ever again alone in Washington Crossing at night by myself, that place is haunted.

I did a night ride by myself in the woods once and made good time also - was too scared to slow down or stop!

On the road, I'm now lit up like a christmas tree, so no trepidation there.
