Thanks thanks alot, i was at peace with what I have, now I can't stop thinking I want one of these...Is it silly to want to run one SS? I think I asked before but what do they come in overall weight wise?

Sorry about that. SS does not work well with the endos. You need to find the right gear so you wont spin out when it gets snowy. The weight penalty is located in some of the things you have to use.

for example, the tires are 1210 grams. thats about 400-600g over standard 29er offerings. right there you have 2-3lbs extra. for the sake of numbers lets take 800g as the standard 29er tire. so its 400g each tire extra.

tubes weigh 450 on average. so people are using 300g tubes in them. i have one at this time and will be trying it out. note that i have never had a flat with the 450g tubes in 4 years. you might be able to add 150g to the penalty.

the 100mm bottom bracket is 350 grams. you can get a 150g phil wood Ti one and mate it to 450g arms so it can be a wash, but lets use 150g extra.

the maverick SC32 is the only suspension fork that will work. mine is 3.13lbs

my rims are 50mm wide and weigh 660g each. whats a 29er rim weigh 400g each. there is another pound.

the frame is 3.5lbs give or take a couple. the pug is 5.5lbs.

so depending on how you pick your parts you are looking at 4-5lb extra. Speedway can build them up with Ti forks in the 23lb range.

"Sweet" is an understatement... EPIC is more like it. It's good to see the frame gusseted at the disc mount... cuz Ti is not indestructible... and that is some "twisted" main tubing... nice!

Maybe I'll see you out there in the snow at Sourland one of these days... I'll be the dude (droolin over your bike)...ridin my ghetto sno-bike: Karate Monkey with Sun Double-wides and Duro Leopards...

Enjoy it... Peace,
BB

Bighit you must be in your glory after this weekend, I've been all over the fatbike offerings and notice that you have influence. It's good to see that this is not just territory thing aka Alaska but a growing end to the sport of cycling. My interest is peaked and was wishing for some fatness today. Funny I used to run Gazzalodi on my DH bike back in the day and now wish I still had it, shame they don't make them today. Still reading that you can get a fatbike down in the 25+ range is awesome. Wont be getting one this year but you can be sure that one maybe in the future, so I'll be hitting up with stupid questions if you don't mind...
