@Paul H if your looking into an HT check out this month Mountain Bike Action mag they test two sweet HT's the Rocky Mountain Vertex and the RSD Middlechild. Some other goodies in the mag also may be worth a perusal.
If I had the funds, heck, I would just go grab a Chameleon. But sadly.... just not the case.

@Paul H, I was thinking just the frames, but use the test to get a perspective on how the frame acts when ridden. The Chameleon frame is a good start at about $750. I don't wanna sound like a homie but the Ritchey is a very light, good handling, and excellent climber you gotta try mine. The frame I believe was $650. Are you going fat tire?

Fat? Prolly not.... A fattie is not in the near future. I have priorities.... HT, DH and then fat lol
I would rather have a carbon bike that I can break so I can go thru this madness every year lol jk! because I certainly cant afford to do that.
But couple of things I am looking for in my the HT is a tapered head tube and boost spacing. Ideally, I would like for it to share parts with my Hightower.... especially the wheels.

wait till Winter, seems like the love fest for them is coming to an end
Funny looking at the hot trends the last few years. Remember when you couldn't buy a fat bike, even from BikesDirect? What about the Ibis Mojo 3 and last year the Chameleon. Stalk the boards and wait, I don't think any of those posted here has sold yet.
