OOS MOGA

What kind of toy are you thinking of, car or bike
Car, I'd like something moderately collectible not a ton in cost to maintain and just plan fun. A few requirements is that is should either be a targa or convertible and have at least 400 hp. Few choices are first gen NSX, newish 911 and Jag F-type. I'm currently leaning towards a NSX. I almost purchased a rolling chassis 15 years ago, but really didn't have the time to put in a new engine and trans.

Porsche, listening rooms, Nautilus speakers. this conversation has gone way too bouche for the likes of me here. My idea of a listening room is a Google home in my living room playing nursery rhymes
it will pass, my babies were both before this wireless internet world. We had a elephant that you pulled on it's tail and it played twinkle twinkle little star. That pachyderm is still around after I'm guessing 100K uses. Digital music and equipment has it's place, it's really reliable and convenient but you can't make great sound with those little speakers. People just don't appreciate good recordings anymore and it's not their fault, recording engineering is a lost art because everything is played so damn loud now that its not important to hear the different instruments. I'm still a sucker for analog and there are few things more gratifying than watching sound come out of a vinyl/lacquer disc as it vibrates through coils on a 50 pound turntable.

Wow,you have so many Hobbies (good for you)
Am I the only person in the world that only have one single hobby which is;.,Biking?
I can’t even play any Damn instrument not even simple like Drum.,coz i’m Dumb!😉

Walt if you are ever in he market let me know. I have been installing and selling home theater , automation electronics for 15 years.
ha, did not know, I'm mostly DIY but will keep you in mind on my next project.
I built my sound room myself but with low tech, fiber insulation, double sheetrock, acoustic tiles, and a cork floor. It's about half the size I wanted, but my basement isn't that large since we have a walk up garage. I looked into doing it the right way and it was crazy expensive just in materials. My next place will have a proper dimensions as my electrostats are way over sized. One set are Apogees Hybrids and the other set are BG Radias, both have gone out of business after the burst of the internet bubble. My favorites are still the Coincident speakers which so good even without a sub. What products do you deal with? I've been kicking around the idea of a whole house system but using the existing amps and speakers to distribute from a bank or internet.

It's a bit of a disease, or extreme ADHD, my brain explodes if I can only do one thing at a time. MrsQ calls me the Jack of all Trades but Master of None, which is completely true. I'm actually at peace with chaos. My cycle is to create chaos, clean/organize chao, repeat. It's my way of therapy. When we were growing up I didn't have much so I just took things apart and if I couldn't fix it, it just sat. There was no internet like now to fix anything, which I like, but that's assuming I can get off of it to actually fix what I came for. BTW: I can't play any either, I've tried, but no bueno. I envy you, I wish I knew how to simply my life...

Drums are not simple.....😛

So.... rain all day on Sat.
Rain possible in early morning on Sun.
I assuming 6MR is a no go?
Not sure I want to ride MCBP when its wet

Looks like we're going to get hit by the hurricane on Saturday. Any chance MCBP will be good the day after a dumping? I can't imagine 6MR being rideable after a full day of sustained rain. Bright side of things after hurricanes the high pressures pull in pretty quickly so I'm expecting a nice sunny Sunday. Thinking plan C is most likely for Sunday at this point.

Pictures? Before bikes that's where I spent all my disposable income. Do you have that Nautilus speakers? I considered them but a large part of my setups have moved to electrostatics though still driving with solid state due to cost. My most efficient speakers are driven by tubes which is just so perfect for Ella and Sarah.
You are more advanced & finacied listener than me - I just sold my b&w 600 series towers and upgraded to the 700’s .
I have a Marantz 5011 & Yamaha 1070 - I also have a Set Of KEF’s That I switch In & out - I also ,much to chagrin of wife love bookshelves- 685 s2s - KEF q100- KEF - Elacs - I’ll buy them an resell on eBay or AVS - like I said I’ve come dangerously close to a steak knife Thru the chest as a new set of speakers arrive every few months - so I’ve had to bring that to a halt.
The kids have put ps4 Xbox there and I can’t blame them because- call of duty with double subs is pretty insane ...

As “ douchebaggery” as it may sound - I’d love to have room for a “ study “ - was at a party recently and the guy had a study - listening room - the coolest room I’ve ever been in ... no tv no computer.

yeah, same for me, I got tired dragging around 200 lbs speaks, I'm too OOS to do that nowadays
I used Audiogon as my go to for used equipment. Never had a problem whereas eBay was a hit or miss. I have a closet full of lemons to prove that point.
What type of inputs are you using? I'm curious on where the trends currently are. I still do mostly CDs and some digital. My vinyl is limited so anything newish needs a DAC.
