OOS MOGA

Tires sizes 27.5 and 29 are standards, wheel spacings of various increments are not. How can something be considered a standard when its only around for a few years? Its all just marketing mumble jumble. I know you want to justify super boost, and I'm not buying it. I'm currently 160 pounds and have only broken one set of 135 spaced wheels. I'll consider super boost if I gain 200 pounds

I am starting to get dizzy, why all the hate Walter? Wheel spacing is not standard while wheel diameter is? Should we revise the definition of standard, not necessarily as applied to the bike industry perhaps?

If you ask me that is the one thing that is standard (just multiple standards) or otherwise how exactly could you effectively fix the wheel to the frame? Arguably, the 26", 27.5 and 29" are less of a standard since their actual diameter changes with the width of the tire, and a 2.35" from Maxxis is not the same size as 2.35" from Schwalbe for example. When you setup your computer do you enter the wheel size as 26, 27.5 or 29 or as in effective diameter/ circumference? that should give you a hint (I haven't done that for ages, new computers probably don't even need that because GPS, right? That's how old I am)

Moneywise, I can tell you from my direct experience that I just bought two sets of super boost hubs (not sure if the + goes in there or not) for exactly the same price if not less that a boost set (one Hope and one DT Swiss). Not planning to move from 12x157 in the near or distant future, I probably won't even be able to ride a bike in the near future given my age. That wouldn't make me diss on a 15x160 axle if there was one with at least an effort from the industry to justify its existence.

That said, the reason I suck and fall continuously is not because of my bike 135 QR or 26" wheels or antiquated frame geometry, it's because I suck and probably I am too old for it anyway, i do not expect my super boost bike to change that much (well, maybe the 29" wheel will help a little)...

why don't they have a rear trailing link suspension set-up? then could just pop the rear-of-the-day (i get this in my txt messages, but it is something different) onto the bike!

don't ask how, i'm an ideas guy now!

you don't suck, but your 26" bike does
Slacker 2019 geo will be your savior, not stuper boost
No more hate on this, see you in two weeks at Allaire?

Not surprised since super boost is not the "main stream" right now.
Price of 29er stuff started going down a bit when 27.5 hit the waves.
But starting last year or so when 27.5 didn't end up being the savior, it seems 29er cost the same or more in some cases. Or maybe I am just not price shopping enuff….[/QUOTE]

Frank giving me hope he should do the same to you. Newer bikes clean up where we don't, I'm sure if I was on your bike I would have eaten shit at least once yesterday. My bike is slack as shit compared to yours so if I made the same mistakes as you my bike saved me.

have you tried to stuff a 29 wheelset on the Talon?
Was thinking about your feeback on how you liked the roll on the bigger wheels

My game plan is 29 for tourne Lew mo and the like

27+ for hm, WC and mooch north and the like

4" if 27+ doesn't do well in the snow with spikes

I only care about 29tbh with some flexibility

All from one bike?

I already have a lightish fs 27.5+ bike - I'll ride that in tech. Everywhere else will be fs (4") 23 lb 29er. Plus 2 road bikes, one for NJ, one for FL, I don't see a need for anything else.

Talon has 27.5x2.25 and doesn't have much room in the rear. I haven't bothered stuffing 29x.2.35 as I just assumed it would not fit.
But for shits and giggles... I'll give it a shot cuz if the Talon could take a 29er.... that could warrant me searching for a 142 wheelset

My Talon is 135 spacing...im assuming yours is too.

when you really want to do an un-boxing video, but might be too excited to actually set up the camera....

Congrats, you topped the gross scale today, you even smoked @Miracle Max Loves Garbage and his toilet avatar (it was a close match but you won). I confessed that I zoomed in trying to keep the offending item out of the screen to guess what you received but failed...how do I un-see this?
