Maybe we could come down 1 day and repeatedly hammer this section until we beat it. Is it really all downhill?

Heckling won't help sadly. It isn't a downhill, more of a false flat. The thing is it's so short, you can't really draft or get any sort of advantage. You don't have much of a lead in, so it becomes a straight up sprint. You have about one block to get up to speed. Next gusty day i will give it a shot, but it isn't looking good 😛
 
1000 ft is a pretty long sprint. You could draft norm for 900 ft and go all out for 100. Cadence is your friend here, 29 mph with 50 x 11 is like an 82 cadence. Go up a gear or two and up the cadence to over 100 and you will beat the time without the need for a henchman.
 
Compact crank fail?

Pit a flag in your yard and wait for the wind to be blowing the right direction. False flat means "not actually flat" usually. Go down fast.

I'll bring Utah and we'll get you 34 mph.

That guy Joe stole that one that I got when me you & Utah did that hill, turn, flat, then pitch up at the end. By 2 seconds. Bastard.

one man is riding his bike from point A to point B, .2 miles, 50x11 gearing, 147 pounds, bike weighs 18 pounds, rolls through point a at 26.3MPH, how many watts does he need to generate to finish at point B in under 27 seconds? what would his average speed need to be?

btw, i think the fit would take longer

you'd have to ave more than 26.7 mph. I have no idea how to calculate the watts required.
 
I got this JP. Some really bored mathematician did all of the hard work already. So all you have to do it convert some units and plug in the numbers.

So...

P (power)= ? in watts
g (gravity)=9.81m/s^2
m (mass)=74.84kg (147+18lbs)
Vg (ground speed) 11.75 m/s
Va (air speed) your missing wind speed and direction, so lets just assume is the same as ground speed.
S (grade)= 0 since in this case we will assume the road is flat.
K1 = .0053...someone somewhere stopped playing legend of zelda long enough to come up with a constant frictional losses (chain, tires, etc.) of a bicycle.
K2 is a constant for aerodynamic drag and its agreed to be .185 kg/m.

and so....9.8*74.84*11.75*(.0053) + .185*11.75^2*11.75

P=345W
