Coils are so addictive in the tech. There are major cons (weight, poppiness) but there are few better feelings going through a section of trail you usually get thrown around and your back tire is just planted to the ground. I'm going to get one when my X2 inevitably explodes and I have to wait for Fox to warranty it.
Good to hear. I am hoping to smooth out some of the tech at Creek. The rear end was jumping around on me at Blue Mt a couple of weeks back, so I thought I'd give the coil a shot. I have one last tune configuration on the X2 I am hoping to try this weekend, but as you pointed out, given the reputation it will probably blow up at some point anyway.

Trying out a Fox DHX2 coil on my Firebird to see how it compares to the X2 air shock.

Spot is running a sale on rear shocks, so I ordered one for my Ryve 115 since the original hasn't been serviced since I bought the bike.

(apparently not what I'll actually be getting, despite getting this image from the Fox website for a trunnion shock...)

Scored this frame for $800 on PB. Gonna build this up with my XC parts that are lying around now (SID fork, I9 UL wheels, power meter cranks) and see which I prefer vs my Rocky Mountain Element. Most likely will sell one come the spring unless I end up just keeping the Element as my trail bike. Who knows.

Had this on my watchlist on PB - nice score!

Would be interested in the Element if you sell, depending on the size?

It's a large. I'm 5'11 and it fits great. I absolutely love the bike, I really am curious how this plays out.

Thanks! Definitely some alarm bells but the guy checked out and even had family from my town. Also took the bike to Revel HQ this morning to get it inspected for me lol. Pretty cool.
