Post a picture of your next bike part or mtb gear on order!

Yeah, that's not happening.
wholeheartedly agreed...you may want to try these instead, I used them on my K2 Proflex.

Thanks. That paint job looks awesome.
I did the full housing with zip ties and tbh looks a bit sloppy. For the rear derailleur exposed cable, I added some inner housing or whatever it's called. Will likely do the same for the dropper.

@Mr.Moto like your idea routing between the seat stays and seat tube. Will give it a try

This looks promising. Thank you.

Will have to check length of cable guides on the bike. A commenter mentioned that they didn't work with his bike because the cable guide was too long for the screw to securely catch the threads. I'd also have to waive my personal "No Amazon unless it's the only option" rule.

im sure its a standard screw size that you could get a longer one at the local hardware store if needed.

damn, i wish i could just toss a couple piece of loose hardware onto the next order for any of the above from work
For some things, I'll place an order and get invoiced like a customer. Time and/or material only. I've had plenty of "government jobs" go through our shop.

I purchased on e-bay way back then, a few brands are available such as Problem Solvers and Jagwire, even though at a slightly higher price not on Amazon. I may even have a few spares in my inventory but I'm a little far from you I believe.

I am impressed with these so far. They are 1/2 the weight of cushcore. Not nearly as tough, but they allow you to run 5-ish less psi and not worry about bottoming out on the rim.

Did a quick search on P.S. website, but didn't see anything. Will search again and check out Jagwire. Yeah, I'm in SJ, 08007.

Cable housing will fit in 1 end only. Other end is slotted for cable only. From P.M.W. website. Yep, the 90s bikes all had exposed cables. I found in my spare parts bin a complete SRAM X9 3x9 setup. Has Jagwire cables and housings. Looks like it has some of the small diameter tubing on the cable to protect the paint. Will use that.

I used an early version (Jagwire, maybe?) of these back when I was running Magura hydraulic rim brakes on a couple of bikes back in the 90s:

(Whoops - didn't see serviceguy's post... but yeah... same thing.)

Do you have them in stock? I’ve been considering a liner for the rear.

Found both.

As for rim tape peelling back, which rim, and brand of tape? We have not seen this happen y
I used one for ~6 months. I didn’t have any issues. It came out looking like it went in and didn’t seem to be any heavier from soaking up sealant (which is a problem for a lot of foam inserts).

I suspect that the very edge of the rim tape was probably rolled by the bead while attempting to push it under the liner during the tire install. After that, it’s just a matter of time before either the tape fails and the tire goes flat or it bonds to the liner. Or at least that’s what happened when I was experimenting with liners… 😳
