pumpkin

mad elf crappy? really?
I bought a 6. I could not believe how much I did not like the first 1. So I drank the remaining 5 and end result was the same. Not my thing - sort of a cross between luden's cherry cough drops and flat Dr. Pepper.

I'm a huge fan of Oktoberfest beers - not so much the pumpkins . I did try Saranacs - it was ok but I think they're all only ok .
And I agree - Porter season by my chiminea is coming !! Love it

I am still miffed about that crappy Mad Elf recommendation. And yes, I am a Jets fan, too. And Mets, since we are airing dirty laundry.

Can I, three years hence, recind that Mad Elf recommendation? 😉
It does suck.

The Mets?
I don't need to say anything, do I?

Ok, Joe. It's over. You are free of the Elf pox.

I grew up a mets jets fan. Went to games at Shea, and my fathers mom lived across from la guardia. I remember watching the games on tv at her house. We would hear the planes take off then hear them a second time from the tube as they flew over Shea. I have yet to go to citi field.

Pumpkins blow.

drinking Post Road Brewery's Pumpkin Ale. not bad.

Post Road is Brooklyn's pumpkin. Just had one and I thoroughly enjoyed it, though it was my first pumpkin beer ever.

Now I'm drinking a Shipyard Pumpkinhead and it tastes like watered down apple cider, not digging this at all. Too bad I have another one 🙁

Up next is Sam Adams Harvest Pumpkin Ale. I'm hoping it's on par with the Brooklyn...

The Sam is good, definitely better than the Shipyard. Up against the Brooklyn I'd have to say its more of a mellow flavor which might lend itself to be more drinkable over a few hours, but I don't think pumpkin ales are the kind of things to spend a whole night with. The Brooklyn/Post Road has a better flavor overall IMO and is the winner of my mini pumpkin beer tournament. SO it's Brooklyn>Sam>>>>>>>Shipyard. Wait, everyone else drinks on Sunday night because they don't want to go to work on Monday...Right? Don't tell me I'm wrong!!!

just knocked down a weyerbacher. very very good.

I dun also had me a dogfish head pumking. Tasty as well. going back for a devious imperial pumpkin.

Uh! what! yea Norm!

Just getting back from Maine where I had one or two of these.
Not sure if they changed it up,
but I remember enjoying it more last year.

On the topic of cider, I did have an Angry Orchard Hard cider,
and that was tasty, and well, tasted like cider....

Yea, the weyerbacker was really good. My second favorite to the DFH. The bacher had such a smooth, pumpkin pie taste with some clove/nutmeg action going on. But it was a little too spiced for my tastes... not quite "Winter Warmer" spiced, but close.

The DFH punkin is where its at for me

Not sure if this one was mentioned yet, but Shipyard's Smashed Pumpkin is the shit!! If you can find it, grab it. Good stuff!
