Recycling Centers that Pick Up Metal

Anyone know of a company that would pick up (possibly pay for the metal too but discounted since being picked up) in Central NJ?

I have a complete car frame full Aluminum that I'd like to get rid of. Problem is it has no engine/wheels/etc. Would have to be carried out in some way.

Or am I dreaming and I have to cut it up myself?

How does 1 go about getting rid of, say, old filing cabinets? @qclabrat - what's the proper Warren etiquette? Technically we have a junk yard in the back so I could hoist it over the fence...

mandi would have taken them off your hands a couple of weeks ago, we found some free ones already now doe. not sure if she wants more

I feel like the MTBNJ hoarder, even though I'm so far from that. But I love free stuff. I almost picked up a leaf blower the other day because it was free... @pearl said no.

If the filing cabinets are in better shape than the ones I have now, and close properly, I am interested. Pics

I could fill the filing cabinets with leaves too.

I only have 1 that might work. The other ones were sitting outside all winter. I could fill those with leaves too.

curious on car make model?

maybe call a towing company, but don't expect much in return

BMW M3. E46. Yea I might do that. A towing company can probably profit from the recycling fee. Wife is bugging me to get rid of it now that we will be doing renovations. The garage will become the Bike Cave.

Put it on craigslist.

Good idea. Will look into it but I worry about the Cragislist weirdos.

buy norm and utah some beer and they will chop it up with the snowblower

Done . As long as I dont have to babysit or be held liable.

There is that "dad's on a budget" site on Facebook, post up there. Not sure if you will get any money but I'm sure someone will come get it.

$.50 lbs. for aluminum and stainless steel and $.08 lb. For steel up at our local scrap yard. If you can find a scrap near you chances are they will come get it... by the way copper is like $1.25 lb now. So if your desperate you can strip your house of plumbing and wires...

my backyard was a dump as well probably 30 yrs ago, that's why there's a truck and scrap metal/plastic in the woods

Give your hauler a call, usually if I give Pinto a few days notice, they'll pickup small furniture and appliances at no extra charge, even took a water heater

Also try Somerset county recycling, opens one day each month

Got it. I'll dump it in your backyard with the car. When the wife asks WTF is that guy doing tossing big hunks of metal by the car, you tell her it's part of your new career.

BMW M3. E46.

E46s are still pretty desirable, esp the M3s
problem is the lack of wheels to roll out, no engine should not be a problem for tuners looking for a shell

I'd find any wheels to fit then list on craigslist, only issue is dealing with the crazies out there wanting to see

a while back I was looking at a car just like yours, a NSX with a IMSA kit
glad I didn't pick it up, as I'm pretty sure it would still be in the garage
instead went into collecting bicycles which are more portable

Use to be a track car till it was killed on the local roads. Funny I always thought It would go in a ball of flames on the race track. It happened the day before going to the track, I was going to prep and pack the car. and bam.

Its been stripped of all the parts worth something. Problem now is the frame is sitting there and I need it gone. Was thinking of buying those HUGE cabinet wheels to screw to the bottom and just roll out to the tow truck but not sure. Its time to start calling around

I should of started with bikes long ago. I wouldn't have been so broke and Id be in shape!
