Rentals?

Hey!
So I'm visiting Bridgewater a bit more often these days, and would love to be able to bike while I'm here. Is there a rental shop nearby Bridgewater/Somerville area? I'll take whatever I can get - road or mtn.
Thanks for any help!

Hmm, not real sure what your options are for rentals. I know some shops will let you demo but you kinda need to be a regular.

How often are you coming back? Are you from the area originally or just coming in for work? More details about everything might help. Do you know anyone in the area or just the work folk, etc, etc.

Eastern Mountain Sports (908-725-7255) at the Barnes & Noble mall has some older bikes to rent but it isn't on the high end spectrum by any means but maybe they will let you rent the nicer demo bike, a large 650b hardtail.

The other closest shop is Somerville Cyclery, 131 North Gaston Ave, (908) 393-9290, not sure what they have to offer.

If you're in town enough it might be worth it to just buy a used bike and store it. Ridewise.org rents bike lockers at the Somerville and Raritan train stations for $8 a month. The lockers are supposed to be for commuter parking only. During my daily commute I've only ever seen one other dude use them. So it's not like you'll be taking a locker from someone who needs one.

Somerville Cyclery doesn't have rentals...but maybe a demo?

Efinger's in Bound Brook has a few rentals for like $50 a day. Mostly Specialized SJ and Roubaix models, last I checked.

I know Pure Energy used to rent bikes for riding on the Canals. They're in Lambertville, so it might be a haul. Plus their rentals were priced on daily/hourly rates, but mebbe there's a bike there for you?

Allamuchy?

Thanks for all the advice!
Planning on riding at Allamuchy Saturday. Is there a specific place to go to park? Suggestions on trails? If you'd like to ride with me, I'll be the one in pink socks. Say hi!

We dont rent mtn bikes, but we rent fitness hybrids for like the tow path, or road bikes for the road. We are in Edison, not to far from bridgewater.
