Smokey & the Bandit Extended Online Race

I am not gonna compete against imaginary numbers, yeah I said it!

I don't get why people can't document their rides. Everyone has a phone capable of running the FREE Strava App!!

Move into Pro with me and we can show these punks what us Bike Commuters are capable of :getsome:

I am not really sure what the commuter class is for anyways. Just the lower mph minimum? Most of the commutes ride more than others or at least as much. In Mattys case, he rides more because of it.

Not sure. If I didn't commute 5 days a week I'd have 1/2 the miles I do. I don't have the time to ride on days that I work otherwise. I drop my boys off at school @ 9am and have to be at work by 10am. It takes 30 minutes to drive so I'd be left with 1/2 hour to ride a day. Screw that. Taking the bike to/from work triples my saddle time and doesn't take away any family time...Bonus...That gets me the green light to go HUGE on sundays :getsome:

Double Duty Day
Rode 21.3 miles off road in 2:51:46
And then spun out on my road bike
Rode 11.3 miles in 48:11

8 points total. Any bonus for stealing a DH KOM on the Valley Mountain Bikers home turf? Haha

THIS! I was bummed at the time to learn I was gonna lose a ton of riding time with this job, as it turns out I now ride more. And yes Sunday is Funday...

I cant help but think a few of you are pointing at me with the whole gps thing. For an online race that is supposed to be "on the honor system" and meant to just encourage us to ride more, you sure are working hard to find ways to discourage me. Wonder if this is why some people leave this forum? :hmmm: Sorry, not me. I am too big a bitch.

I like this forum as I have met some wonderful people here, I learn a few things, and find some encouragement too.

So lay of the no gps thing fellas. There are worse things in this world to cry about.

want me to get one, how about you pay my mortgage bill this month or fill up my van for a couple months and I will get one. Money doesnt grow on trees and some of us have stupid phones.

Enjoy your day and happy riding people. I was gonna drive to work today but instead me and my not as fat as it used to be ass is gonna go undocument another ride to work.

Feel free to drop me from the race if you all cant take the heat. Dont care. I dont ride for YOU. I ride for ME. Its all about me anyway.

Oh an just so you know, no I am not crying whining or being a baby. Just acting like one of the fellas here.

Yes The sport guys were nice and so is Dave, but as I pointed out from the original base race refer to post #3. Yes I am not so nice 😉

Why do I say what I say.

Your documentation since March race

10 hrs of ride time
29 miles

Mine

13hr of ride time
211 miles

See what you are missing is when you stop at a light, get off to walk a hill, BS about bikes or to catch your breath the garmin does not count as ride time. I am out spilling guts and feeling aggravated and no it's not for this friendly race, it's bigger picture for me. Whining yes but at least I went on record way back in the beginning. No worries though if Dave moves me to Pro then all is good.

Now here is what I have for you and only you. $40 and I will mail you a Garmin 205. PM me address...

Matty does make a good point. I believe AM is an honest person with integrity, recording non-moving time is just probably an over-sight. AM, I say account for stoppage in your time you submit and that should work.(Dave an Norm have final word on this)

AM, I say do your thing and get a garmin when you are ready.

At the end of the day this is a contest for fun to motivate people to ride. Lets keep it fun in the spirit of cycling. We are all winning.

I totally understand where matty is coming from and It is a good point...but I don't think anyone is saying AM is being disingenuous.

It's like anything else, friendly or otherwise. People just want to know its all fair.

And in matty's defense, he's incredibly stressed I'm going to beat him at the SSaP. 😀

And let's focus on more important issues- we have NJ mountain biking ROYALTY in the game, Mr. Jeff Lenosky!
