Tariffs...what to make of them.

Not sure what your point or question is here. Are you implying that I don’t believe in the constitution? That couldn’t be further from the truth. Why would I be betting on a kingdom or an oligarchy? Neither is an interest of mine.

We don’t have a democracy, we have a constitutional republic. If we can keep it. The experiment is the self governing part.

Trump was constitutionally elected and therefore has the power of 1/3 of our constitution. He is the sole executive with full authority across the entire executive branch. The authority is granted to the president(any president) to faithfully execute the laws of the US. This includes routing out the corruption from all of the alphabet agencies who get their power from him, he’s obligated to do it by law. There are limits on presidential powers but not as much as you think. The entire executive branch serves at the pleasure ofC the president. Full stop. He has the full authority to get rid of the corruption, fraud and waste as he’s doing right now. It’s the main reason a president enjoys immunity, they have to be able to govern without tricks of obstruction from the opposition.
A Constitutional Republic with the three branches of government, the executive branch, judicial branch and legislative branch which makes us a Liberal Democracy. The other Democracy is a Illiberal Democracy which puts all of the authority at the top.

So, document the good stuff that has been done so far? Other than Elon and Trump trolling I haven’t seen anything in transparency.

I don’t think your conclusions here are exactly “on the money”. I also think that following the trend is a dangerous game.

The only conclusion that I’ve come up with in the investing game is that if listened to every guy who “knew what they were doing” I’d be broke right now.

Have you read Burton Malkiel's book "A Random Walk down Wall Street?"

WTF.

Grocery stores here are $5 a dozen and I thought that was crazy. That's Aldi and the high priced grocer.

Are the toilet paper hoarders now doing eggs?

Phew, quite the thread we got going here.

A couple of things I find more interesting than discussing felon vs liar or voting minutiae :

1: How the heck is the GOP going advance their agenda thru reconciliation with all the tax reductions?

2: How will the blend of documented and undocumented immigrants change over the next few years? We do need a significant flow of immigration to blunt the effect of low birth rates. More desperate immigrants are also willing to stay in places like the Midwest that continue to empty out ( and strand housing as the population drops ) Undocumented immigrants do have a net positive economic impact but that money does not wind up in the pocket of the working class that they are competing with for jobs…

It won't be this administration, but #2 could really be solved by changing immigration.

Let way more people in legally, especially people more likely to be a benefit to this country.

Modern day Ellis Island. Clearly the demand to live here is existent but the people don't want a porous border where people come in illegally.

No, but it looks like an interesting read, I'll get it for me and my son who is going to start business school in the fall.

Went to four grocery stores. Paid $8.69 for eggs, but Mrs G sang "MVP" when I walked in.

There has been this bird flu thing going on for a few years now (there were also a few instances of jumping to humans), I like how Whole Foods and the other place dance around this. I can't even get feathers to tie flies with, waaaaa!

Malkiel's book is one of the very best that I have read on personal finance investing. Quite readable as well. Dr. Wade Pfau's book Retirement Guide being quite good as well.

Different ways of dancing for each of the four grocery stores yesterday, I noticed. Unfortunate that Brainworm wasn't confirmed by the Senate to prevent the bird flu from impacting the food supply.
