The only way we see tariff checks is as a last ditch effort if the economy is totally tanking. The cost of $2000 checks is hundreds of billions of dollars more than the tariffs are bringing in.
Worked out the last time during Covid. Everyone got money and then we got inflation to devalue it back to where it was before the checks.

The problem is inflation is starting to ramp up significantly before any checks. Have you seen the price of natural gas? Nearly doubled in a month. I bond rates are already rising back up before any of this.
