What brakes are you currently using? Had Magura MT(something, don't remember) on a '16 Scalpel. Needed to be bled often and never could get them to feel like I was stopping with confidence. Upgraded to Hopes on that bike in '17. Think I've bled the Hopes once since.

I've always used Sram brakes - I have Codes on the beefy bike and 4-pot Levels on the do-everything bike. Happy with both sets, but I'm always itching for new components to try
@ebarker9 runs Magura's. Not sure his general feel for them but he's definitely had some squealing issues.
I like their lever shapes and power and the pricing on MT5s is a bargain, but they're definitely the most finicky brakes to set up that I've ever had. They can be tricky to bleed and get aligned so that the rotor doesn't rub.
