What brakes are you currently using? Had Magura MT(something, don't remember) on a '16 Scalpel. Needed to be bled often and never could get them to feel like I was stopping with confidence. Upgraded to Hopes on that bike in '17. Think I've bled the Hopes once since.Magura brakes, anyone? Feels like a great price

@ebarker9 runs Magura's. Not sure his general feel for them but he's definitely had some squealing issues.
