The Guitar Player Thread.

We have a guitar thread and nobody mentioned the passing of Jeff Beck?

Who are you people.

Edit: Saw he was mentioned. My "Who are you people" still stands.

I listened to Jeff Beck again today and after 3 hours I still didn't recognize anything. Must've been really great 🙄

(kidding of course, I just don't listen to white people that play the blues)

I actually have to say Jeff Beck played in way more stuff than I realized. When reading about him last night I didn't realize how much he played in the Yardbirds and he would swap with Page. Or how he was the guitar on Roger Water's "Amused to Death" album which was interesting in how Gilmore-esque it was.

I'm going to say Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mack, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, etc. All better versions of the blues.

Oh, and Jeff Beck doing Rollin & Tumblin which is a blues standard in one take with Imogen Heap in one take.

That’s awesome! Any idea what models they are? I’m a big fan boy of both companies. When I had my Kiesel (formerly Carvin) built I had them use the Carvin logo vs Kiesel to pay homage to Becker. The dude in the custom shop said it might be the last guitar they built with the Carvin name, they discontinued it as an option right when I placed the order. And old school Mesa’s are just fucking great. The small combo amps from that era are so good for recording.

Mark IIB. Even have the original cover! This thing weighs a ton

That's why I went through his Spotify Playlist this morning. I figured I knew something just didn't know it was him. I came up 100% miss, most of this stuff was popular 20 years before I was born so I'm not surprised really.

I attended a very well-played show at the State in NB (prolly more than) a few years ago, featuring Jeff Beck & Buddy Guy. I wanna say Kate Pierson came out and belted a few standards with them too, maybe I was hallucinating.

Dude he played with everyone. I love that one of the last things he did was a song for Ozzy's new album.
