thought some of you might be interested in knowing that this was going on:

HARTSHORNE WOODS ASSOCIATION’S
ANNUAL SPRING CLEAN UP
SAT & SUN APRIL 18th & 19th

This is the time of the year we make a united effort to clean up our roadways, properties and park property of trash.
The park rangers will support our efforts by providing us with plastic garbage bags and they will periodically pick up filled bags over the course of this weekend.

BAG LOCATIONS FOR BOTH EMPTY AND FILLED BAGS:
• CORNER WIGWAM AND GRAND TOUR
• ENTRANCE TO MAINTENANCE BY POND
• CORNER CLAY COURT & HARTSHORNE
• CORNER WASHINGTON LANE
• CORNER TAN VAT ROAD

THE FOLLOWING AREAS ALWAYS NEED OUR EXTRA EFFORT:
• THE CAUSEWAY SEDGES AND POND (WEAR RUBBER BOOTS AND GO AT LOW TIDE!)
• LOCUST AVENUE ALONG THE FISHER-STERN PROPERTY ALL THE WAY TO THE NEW BRIDGE
• WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO VENTURE AS DEEP AS YOU CAN INTO PARK LANDS
GET OUT, GET FRESH AIR AND HELP MAKE OUT NEIGHBORHOOD LOOK NICE!!!

don't think so... i think they go to one of the places the bags are, pick one up, meander about the area and fill it up, then drop it back where it came from full. then the rangers take it from there
 
Ima plan on liter picking Sat.4/18 for about an hour than ride Hartshorne. The Locust ave. Bridge by the Fisher-Stern property is my target. I could use company if anyone wants to join me.
Get some good karma points as a do-gooder than ride Hart/Huber. Post up if interested and we can figure out meeting details as we get closer to date.
 
I might be out of town that weekend but if I'm local I'll lend a hand. I'll let you know if I can meet up Iggy.
 
I plan to be in the Huber parking lot at 9:00am Saturday. Let me know if anyone wants to meet up. The plan will be to pick trash for an hour or less than go ride Hart/Huber, all are welcome.
It would be nice to show some good-will and love to the Hartshorne.
 
As this is my main riding area I will be more then happy to join .
what are we going to do with the bikes ? I coming on bike from home ...

We are going to be picking trash along the Fisher Stern property & locust ave bridge so you can lean it up against a tree near where we are working.
 
can make it :cry:- I Broke again my chain , assembled it on the wrong way and had to walk home :drooling:...
 
I'm being hypocritical and can't make it. Excuses: Truck is not running and getting parts for it today and kids have sport practices throughout the day. Hopefully I can redem myself and make the Allaire TM tomorrow AM.
 
don't sweat it guys, it seems the Hartshorne Woods Association came up lame and they are residents of the area who would have the most to gain from a clean-up. I noted the bag pick up and drop off areas and there was only one bag filled with trash, the one I filled. After riding Hart&Huber for 2+hours I went back to see if anyone else filled bags...0 🙁
Im sticking to TM
 
surprised i dropped my half full bag next to a bunch of others, as well as a a very old bike that someone dragged out of the mud in one of the gulleys (is it poossible it was iron? rusted and heavy as hell when i flipped it over)... the rangers are very good about picking up the bags... don't let the lack of full bags discourage you let the lack of trash encourage you
