It's been a while for Mandi on the road bike, but I think she finally forgot the fear of being hit and can enjoy riding bicycles on the road. I think.

Mitch for Mayor.

Someone should have gotten a picture of two large tables next to each other....at one table: bikers....at the next table....BIKERS!

You can hire Mitch out for parties.

I forgot about Mandi being hit by a car. What were the details?

Wow, totally slacked. I think I have sort of a reason. Mandi was able to avoid getting hit by the front of a car. The car was making a left in front of her and she was able to skid and slam into the passenger side fender. No huge chunks of skin but some tweaked back issues. I think she's coming around though.
Spoke with my owner man and I will be able to work from home. Which is amazing. Such a pressure relief. Not sure if I'm ready for the WFH life, any tips will be appreciated. Ran into Big Sean this week and he said I will go batshit crazy and to always put pants on.
We now have an address in NC. Cool little apartment. Theres a Bonjangles within walking distance from our place. Our storage unit will be across the street. Kind of cool.
Saturday was extra lazy and much needed, I was running low on energy. Plus seeing the flags sideways was making it much easier to stay bundled up in bed.
Sunday I convinced myself to get out and ride with Capers, Ben, Fred, Oscar and Jared. Pretty much the United Nations of Cycling. We were cutting up the whole time. Wheel size debate. "Would you rather ride Bald Pate or" game was fun. I rode Freds Habit and it was rather interesting. Tons of pedal strikes. It felt fun though. I think with a longer stem it could be a perfect bike. Didn't like when you stood up and tried to climb with it though.

Capers was also the photographer for this ride. I notice in the winter I do not take as many pictures because it's a PITA to take my gloves off.

Thats pretty cool that you get to work from home, screw the pants...there overrated.
Didn't Bojangles used to be called Sambo's?
Maybe you can get on a cycling team in NC called Sambo's.

Sweat pants count as pants.

Just put a post-it over the camera on your laptop in case you have meetings via Webex. Fine to share your desktop, but not your video inadvertently - unless you want too.

So when is the scheduled closing up here? Bittersweet, broski.

I have a stem if you need it for the Habit.

Funny weren't you originally planning to move to NC but were talked out of it on these forums?

If the plan is to have kids soon I think you kids are doing it right. Kids be expensive and better to keep some Ching in your pockets.

Only wish you a safe and smooth sail!

I need to plan some sort of going away bicycle festivities, but it's cold out. I'm sure this summer in winter thing will break soon. I've been filling out events on my calendar for this year and seeing how often I'll be back up in NJ for weddings and stuff will be interesting. It's like I have never left!
I was sort of talked out of it because I thought we could never afford a house, apparently we were able to find a real diamond in the rough. Everything we could afford now would be a foreclosure. There are tons of other factors, but having a better life for ourselves and the ability to start a family will be huge. My Dad worked 2 jobs in order to keep us fed, I don't want to live that life if I don't have to.
I was googling loops and routes for road rides on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Peeping Pisgah bike races.

This is beautiful and ~2 hours away. You know I'm a sucker for views.

Dates I should be back in NJ
Possibly July 24th weekend. Thats when W101 is too. Mandi has a bridal shower. Maybe I can make a trip out of it.
Sept 17th Weekend for a wedding. (found out this was the same weekend as the Fools Gold Race, FAIL)
Maybe another weekend in June or August.

I find if I make a list and post it online, I'm more likely to commit to it because I feel like I have a responsibility to actually do it. I think the VA ones are close enough that NJers can do them. The others you may want to bunk up with me.

Peezy Proposed MTB Schedule
March 6 - Stokesville 60k - Mt Solon, VA
April 3 - Dragons Tale - New Castle, VA
April 30 - Cohutta/Big Frog 65 - Ducktown, TN
May 22 - Pisgah 55.k MTB - Pisgah, NC
June 26 - Iron Mountain 100k - Damascus, VA
*July 23 - Wilderness 101 maybe? If a couple other locals commit to it I can make this happen.
July 31 - Off-Road Assault Mt Mitchell - Old Fort, NC

You will need to hookup with Quadsworth.. He rides those trails at Blueridge. Hang with him and you will kill it soon enough. PS the W101 is also the same weekend as the H2H Mountain Creek race....

Ha, I saw some interview with him at that race in Costa Rica, seems like a super nice guy. He is a legit pro though no?

Have you investigated to see if there is a Mtb forum like mtbnj?

Wasn't Sarah Frost last known address NC? Someone? Just in case you don't know Sarah was one of the main people involved for getting jorba up and running along with multitude of other responsibilities Mtb related.

Please keep posting your race and life recaps here! Don't forget us here 🙂
