The Stewart Super Six Pack presented by...MTBNJ

why in the hell would I ride on an aluminum ss for six hours? that's just stupid...

Stupid? But I was told that enlightenment only comes through simplicity and suffering ... is that not true? F*ckin' Dalai Lama, you con-artist son of a b*tch ... Now I don't know what to think -- I'll bet it's all crap, and that a gear ratio of pi isn't even the only way to achieve Nirvana.

Luckily Bikesdirect is out of those titanium 29ers so I can't make any rash decisions before the race. 🙂

I'm in!

looking forward to 6hrs @ stewart! now if I could just decide which bike to ride. Steel SS, Suppa fly SS, or Geared? :hmmm: Maybe a new bike for the event😉.

Recently added PacifcHealth Labs (Endurox/Accelerade) as a sponsor.

Currently sitting at 136 of 200 spots filled. I'm posting a reminder to everyone tonight. Reg numbers have been pretty active in the last week, and I suspect the last 64 spots will go quickly. Tomorrow we're going to bump it on the other boards. I'd rather see the MTBNJ people represented if they want to be.

As a reminder, the event will have:

* Generous payout to both Open classes
* Prizes to top 3 in other classes
* Medals (possibly hand-made) for top 3 in each class.
* Original, unbroken collector's edition pint glasses for everyone
* A sexy 6-pack t-shirt for everyone
* Swag awarded to deserving people at random
* Good beer (well, after a few it all tastes the same)
* Reasonably edible food (assuming you drank the beer first)
* Awesome music (world famous music engineer was landed this weekend)
* Smokin’ Beer Sirens
* Aid Station Food/Drink (PacificHealth Labs provided)
* Commemorative number plate (well, not really but you get to keep it)

go team

Stupid question/ team clarification. On the site: Teams are allowed to go in any order they want, consecutive or alternating.

So.. On a 12 mile course somebody could be sitting around for 45 mins to what the heck - 2 hours, waiting for the team mate to come back around... Why not just let teams finish as many laps as possible period. In parallel if need be... Maybe if it was 6 mile it would make more sense for consecutive or alternating...

Looking forward to it!!!

The aim of having team classes is really to get people out there who don't have 6 hours of racing in them. If someone wants to go for 6 hours, we feel they should be in one of the solo classes.

I see the idea in what you're saying. But you could extend that to a 3 person "group" or as many as you want. By having team riders out there at the same time, your team can be any arbitrary number of people. If we had teams of 2 then people would ask: why not 3? Why not a co-ed division? And so on.

More importantly, we're capped at 200 racers. So we need to minimize the categories. Otherwise we'll end up with a situation where 50% of the racers are on the podium.

Only 63 spots left! Go register now! That means you! And you! And you!

Thanks for the reply Norm! That's cool, the question just came up among our members... 6 of us will be riding it! Can't wait! Stewart rocks - hopefully it's not a mud pit like it was 2009, although that would be fun 😉

LBT.org looking forward to your site, mainly to see what I maybe missing out your way. Western Catskills is the bomb and more trail and camping options are always welcomed...

Incidentally, if anyone is interested in being part of the day and doesn't want to race, let me know and I'll find something for you to do.

I see 3 key members of the Pearl cheering Posse have not made a decision yet...

I believe we've got 2 smokin' beer siren volunteers from the gtluke/satanpez support team. Norm, did Utah put you in touch with them?
