The (unofficial) Tour de Fat

Was it real? I mean was your heart going apeshit or did you feel fine?

Nah I was fine except for what my brain was telling me. My resting is usually pretty low (high 40's) that will be an indicator. With all the pork my arts maybe clogged a little...

Possibly interference with the HRM? I know I haven't seen that with the newer models but I don't know if that's still a problem with some of the units.

I get that alot when I start a ride but once I start sweating it goes back to normal, it must pickup some outside interference when its dry

Fail to not Fail

So plan was to do a triple in clockwise from school lot with deathmetal 26er9er and goathead. This was a complete fail to think i would be able to ride with seasoned humans and to start off going up tranquility side first. By time this fatso reached top the boys were enjoying tea and crumpets. I politely told them FU I'm bailing on MY ride. This is sacrilege I know but there was no way I was ruining THEIR ride with my fatsoism. They put up a good fight of kindness but with a enough FU's they took the hint.

I proceeded at my snail pace only to not get my HR under control which in turn effects my vision for some odd reason. So with that it was exit stage right back to the lot. I figured head back home get the road bike and go for a long slow ride.

As I returned back to the lot, low and behold my bro Kozz was about to go for a DP. Asked if I wanted to join and off we went. Feeling much better and the ease of DP and SSP made things much more doable.

So what started out as a demoralizing ride turned out to be a satisfying 25miles with good elevation. I'm happy 😛

On to part 2 of fail I wanted to try out this Banshee Paradox frame only problem is it's a medium and I tried to make it work. Got a setback post from Jdog and all, it is just too small. Although I am sold on the short chainstay 29er I would not own the Banshee. It is just waaaay to stiff for my liking. Damn thing is a jack hammer. Now a custom Bystickel (Steel) well that just maybe in the future...

It wasn't kindness, we really just don't care. Glad it all worked out but you missed my huge getoff between 4bumps and the BSA! If I ran clips I'd be either dead or penniless right now. See ya next wknd:drooling:

Hi Pearl, I rode dirt today. Got a call at the last minute from good pal Spencer who said he was tripping for some rocks. My original plan was for some tarmac but I like Spence cause he is like one of my long time homies I grew up with. Bonus is he brings Fiona to run with Katie. Met up at Mount Villa lot and rolled out through DP's off beaten trails. Conditions were super and tacky. Saw super nice guy Bill (graveyardman) with VTC Gordon finishing up their ride in SSP. Actually had a great roll out today and need to get me some more been slacking way too much.

Today was adventure time with Woody and Chris26er. Plan was Abby Normal including meeting place. We started from my fav chow stop Enzos so when we were done we could refuel.

We started off with a bit of urban assault/town park before hitting the long road climb of Patriots Path (yeah that one into SSP). This section of SSP doesn't get touched by most but is worth the price of admission. Once we got to ranger station we stayed lower SSP throughout to North crossover. We then rolled the S/M path to an offshoot on the right to offset the boredom of railtrail. North entry was up WW's to white and out. This is where things became recon. Back past tranquiltity farms (actual farm) and onto a rail trail that led to us doing some backcountry shuffle, rock climbing/bushwacking. I really wanted this to work but that part was a failure but got me thinking that I have options. We did manage to dumbfound a local redneck up on the highside who tried to tell us we were TPing which he can SAD because we were on State property. This brings us now to the school lot which we cut behind lake and into DP. Again I opt for the unfamiliar way out down to Waterloo rd. We rode off and on the highland trail and finish the last 3 miles on tarmac.
