The Whole Enchilada - Moab UT

Has anyone ever done this ride? It looks pretty amazing.

I'll be out there next week so I booked this based on Jdog's recommendation and everything I read online. Now that's it's time to go, the girlfriend is getting cold feet. She's a decent rider and does well on the technical stuff around here but has never tried anything like this. I don't want her to do it if she's not ready but on the other hand, I don't want us to miss out if she is.

I know there's lots of riding options out there so if I have to scale it back and find other rides I will.

Any input would be appreciated.

Jeff

There is only a few spots that are really demanding.

If you rent her a big bouncy bike and some pads she will be fine.

Consider that I have ridden this twice w/ loaded saddlebags after 9 days of riding each time. Basically dead.

One option is to ride it once yourself first and check it out.

There should be tons of stuff on youtube that shows what this is like.

The views here are amazing and totally worth it.

Are u being guided or just heli dropped?

If the first then no worries.

Lik j said, only one part. The last couple legs is crunchy edgy slick rocky but has alternate lines

So fun man. Have fun! Don't talk her out of this one!

There is some fast flowly DH. Just wait for her at bottom or vice versa ;). There is climbing too! Pack enough supplies and water!

I agree with J. It's not that terribly demanding. Assuming you are shuttling it, the only major climb is at Boro Pass. The lack of oxygen means you'll be taking it slow and stopping to catch your breath a bit.

At some points the trail runs right along some very high ledges, so if your gf has vertigo, that could be a problem.

This ride is totally worth it. I'm doing it again at the end of September.

Thanks for the info guys!

We're going to get shuttled to the top and will be taking it slow for sure. I'd hate to miss out on such a great ride.

I've done it twice, a lot of fun. Tip #1 Bring a lot of water and food it is a long day. #2 extra tubes, pinch flat city. #3 40PSI + in both tires, pinch flat city. Boro pass is a 1000ft climb to start, no oxygen. Then the top part is the steepest, but manageable. The rest is nothing but fun, a few climbs but mostly downhill. It is the best ride in Moab, have fun and do it twice. End of September is the race down it, they do it in under 2 hours.
