Things that make you frown :(

Doing some trail work on an "Old Trail" in my hood that I used to ride 50 years ago.
There are cool trails all around this one, but I like this one and it fell into disrepair over the years.
So over the last few days I've been cleaning it up, making dead falls passable. It's only a 1/4 mile trail
that connects with many others. Today I was mapping it out and cleaning up some branches. Then I
see someone has blocked up some deadfalls that I just cleared out! They put back the pieces I cut out
and added more brush to cover up my making it rideable. WTF! I re-cleared everything the way I wanted.
Then I even rode to the "unknown actor" that does all the great trail work in this section, just to see if I pissed
him off for some reason. He said No it wasn't him, he kinda likes that old trail too. I hope this doesn't escalate.

Hey Pete where's that trail?

That’s standard for an Ultegra 8000 crank. I caught mine before it busted like that. Did you have any ticking or creaking when putting force to the drive side?

May be a warranty issue. Will let you know.

100%. Scuttlebutt is that water got in the hole on the other side/worked at the differential materials (aluminum crank/steel spindle). Once it progressed far enough, the corrosion popped the glue bond.

The new cranks have a permanent plug in the spindle that prevents anything from getting in, theoretically. The parts haven't been around long enough to see that kind of failure, yet.

Someone telling me this chairing was no good.

Big disappointment 😞

Also this cassette.
When a chain skips under load, it's time to make a change. This is a pass / fail. I rode your bike personally and it skipped under my weight. Both with the old chain and a new on on the old cass.

Your bike was pretty thrashed (including a cracked rim) and you approved all the service that was in the estimate.

When you replace a chain and cass it only stands to reason that you would replace the chainring as well.

*NEW/NEW always works better than new/old.

I'm also disappointed that rather than discuss this with me personally, you chose to go the route of the online review. Always fun ..

Thanks for the edibles though. That gets a 5 star. A smart man won't bring someone who doesn't drink a beer and I thank you for that.

Man I did a cassette and chain along with a new derailleur. Checked my hanger with adjustment bar and it's a mess. Have a new chainring on its way. Actually ordered 104 spider to avoid the extra tools needed down the road for direct mount needed for ep8.
900+ miles on ebike drivetrain is actually not bad.
Though it's been needing replacement for a bit honestly. I've also shredded DD minion so yeah emtbs wear stuff quite a bit faster.

maybe wrong here but I didn't read his post as a complain about the service received, more like a disappoint result from the parts that failed him and you had to replace with new one. Its the frown thread.

I don't think Frank would not tell you what he thinks in person either.
