My mom had polio as a kid and then post poly syndrome as an adult. Guess what basically doesn’t exist now a days and why.Me neither. Anti Vaxxers are like born agains in their commitment to absurdity.
Probably not the best example to use, as the initial vaccination (OPV) could actually develop in the full blown illness (VAPP), even though rare. Since moving to the inactive vaccine (IPV) that is no longer the case. The only person I know that contracted polio got it from the vaccine, this is way back in the mid '60s and in Italy, when ironically polio had already been eradicated. Still, the vaccine was the only way to remove the virus, no doubt about it. I like to think that when the initial anti-polio vaccine was manufactured they did not expect it could even sporadically actually turn into the virus (VDPV), unfortunately sometimes good things have side effects for a few.My mom had polio as a kid and then post poly syndrome as an adult. Could be a stupid question... but...
Kid turning 12 in 2 months. Can she get the shot now or have to wait until she turns 12?

Polios hasn’t been in the us since the 70s.Smallpox is a better example - completely eradicated in nature due to vaccines. Polio is still around.
Do you have to provide a birth certificate?
We considered it for Simon but if we ever have to prove it to the school we might catch shit.
What has school ever done for anybody? Tell them life begins at conception and then watch them squirm.
Yeah but if we said that they’d call bullshit on us having gotten vaccinated at all.

Yes, but agree that it’s pretty mich non existent here?^ That we know of.
- However, the virus has been brought into the country by travelers with polio. The last time this happened was in 1993.
