Obviously an age effect but I can honestly say I don't know anyone who is not vaccinated, and I know more Republicans than Democrats. My cycling buddy Bob in FL - both he and his wife are evangelicals and big Trump supporters - he got it right away but his wife was reluctant at first, but then changed her mind and got it in June.

Right. I mean, it's not an all or none thing. Kinda like, not all right wingers are white supremacists, but most white supremacists are right wingers. Flip that with communists and the left. I know plenty of vaccinated right wing people. But the only unvaxinated people I know are right wing. Surely there's people on all parties that fall all over the Vax lines. But I don't think you can really say anti-vax sentiments aren't primarily a right side political thing.

To play devils advocate, if I were fed solely that 1. The virus is a hoax and no big deal and 2. The Vax isn't safe and govt control/loss of freedom by my news and political sources, I'd probably be hesitant about it too. News these days is designed around confirmation bias and shock/awe. I bet if I hopped on msnbc/WAPO I'd see a bunch of articles about the negatives and how red states and right wingers are ruining everything. 6 months ago would probably be how reds are going to ruin everything. Newsmax and the like are probably still denying severity and talking about freedom and control. This is why it takes so much effort to try to figure any of this out, which I don't have time for. Get vaxed or if you don't, don't go to a hospital...just live and die by your convictions.

Edit: to be clear the last statement is universal and not directed at you personally

Specific to covid vaccines, yes. But as previously demonstrated, true anti - vaxxers, those who think all vaccines are bad - not the case.
 
My wife's company has over 75k employees. They just announced they are requiring everyone to be vaccinated to come into an office. People are apparently not thrilled according to their Linkden posts.

Yes, those whacky naturalist liberals in California(and other places). That's not relevant at all here. This is a specific pandemic/vaccine we're discussing.

My cousin and his wife are pretty darned close to 100% anti-vaxx. They have indicated that they'll pull their kids out of school if the COVID vaccine is ever required. They fall into a category that's not quite right wing and also not the super naturalist liberal crowd either. They're more of the Joe Rogan/Crossfit population who believes that you should be doing, I don't know, more squats to build immunity and gargling with natural honey. Something along those lines.

Guessing you didn't get shingles from getting covid vax. Btw, there is a vaccine for shingles. I'm getting for my 61 yr old wellness exam in a couple weeks. Hope you get better soon.
 
Thanks! I really thought I was going to die the past 5 days. Stabbing chest pain is one of the symptoms. I visited urgent care Monday. Ekg, X-ray all good. A very little Rash didn’t show up till Tuesday. Today went to ER. Because I thought I was going to die last night again. Bloodwork etc. My wife was already planning my funeral. That’s how bad it got for me.

Sorry to hear about your shingles case. I had the shingles and can attest to how awful they are. Like boiling water being poured on your skin all day.
