This Thread Blows - C19 and beyond

Life has been hectic, but I'm sort of in the same boat as you. If I can make a good weekend trip out of falling flight prices, so be it. I had a great 2 week vacation in 2008 when they were practically giving away flights & hotels.

The WWII museum was awesome. Highly recommended. And Tulane Art Museum if that's your thing and there's good temporary exhibits.

WWII museum was very good. Dee had it in the itinerary and was insulted I brought it up to her.

Matt, for your wife and Utah Joe's wife and all those who care for us, day after day, when we're sick and need help, THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU!
+1. Thank you Ladies and all health care workers during these times.

Wife has gotten 2 positive cases and 3 awaiting results today. She is now married to them. One therapist exposure at a time is the philosophy ?
Ug that sucks but of course not unexpected....

Can't say I know what makes my wife or other medical professionals tick.... She just describes her day to me and I want to throw up... They are special group of people for sure
Funny @mattybfat I showed this pic to my wife

Her : oh Ya... Thats what we have wear with certain patients... Like flu for example..
Me:so you put all this crap on for flu patients?
Her: usually not, it's a pain in the ass and it upsets the little kids (my wife mostly works in the peds er, but sometimes adults too)
Me: so I'm guessing this is why you have been in bed for the past week with the flu?
Her : probably
Me: maybe you just say fuck it and scare the kids this week

We went out to eat tonight... Ill say it wouldn't have been my first choice but as my wife put it... If I'm not worried about going to work with all the actual sick people I'm sure as hell not worried about going to a restaurant... So let's go. After she goes back to work, not sure if/when we get to go out again

My wife locked us down, my son has asthma so it is understandable.

Mrs. said shop rite Hillsborough was norm today. Even got milk. There was bread and she passed on buying lol.

4:40 work email, we will cut back on some office personnel. I was on the last group to WFH. (My reaction. This sucks. Pay me more to risk getting this virus)

9:30 never mind, change of plans, only directors and above are required in office

damn it she should have bought the bread

@xc62701 i’m surprised she even checked you. I was talking to kids pediatrician and he said something along the lines that they would make you answer some questions over the phone and then if they think you are a risk coming into a doctor office then don’t come in and notify your local health Dept.
Well she said she checked me since I had actual symptoms of something that was not the virus. Since she could help she saw me. If it was not anything or could have been the virus then she would have directed me otherwise. They were still very cautious.

I share some pics of something different just to share some good and normal in the country....and something different than the obvious necessary concern @mattybfat and @pedals be safe. Im hoping my trip home is uneventful.
I would just stay there. Once trout season starts in NY I plan on moving up to Lordville. The family will be thrilled, and I’m sure I can make a few extra bucks working a shift or 2 at the local meth lab after I’m done fishing for the day.

11 positives. 6 on vents. All male between the ages of 28-48.
🙁 Jesus, that's a really disturbing article. I'm going to say it again, make sure you and your family are ready to hunker down at home for 3+ weeks. You think there's panic and hysteria now? I'd avoid the crowded markets but from what I've seen, gas station food marts, local bodegas and even pharmacies like CVS have stocked food shelves - things like pasta, canned soups and simple non-perishables. Go shopping. Also make sure you have medicine, ibuprofen, nyquil and whatever else you need. If you get sick with a simple cold or even the regular flu (never mind Coronavirus) you will not be able to get to the doctor. Frankly, you should avoid all medical facilities and hospitals for quite a while.

Entire countries are going on lock down ...if you still think this is all hype and overblown then you're not paying attention.
