Ran into (almost literally) a big bear on the red switchbacks tonight. I was going up as the bear was going down the closed fall line trail.
After I backed off and we reached an unspoken understanding, he continued down and I set a PR going up 😆😆
Trails were in good shape, but plenty of sticks and branches down . Nothing blocking the trail.
I saw a bear and cubs in the spring so I am on the lookout. Squirrels are remarkably loud.I been hearing a lot of bears at Tourne lately.. hopefully walkers will keep their dog(s) on leashes so the park won’t closed down again.
I never encountered bears at Tourne , but always at Morris of Lewis
before I saw him, I was more worried about a branch coming down on my head.Bet you woulda got the kom if he decided to follow you
That's why my bikes stayed in the garage after work yesterday, that wind was intense up in the township and I had a nice mess on my property to clean up too.before I saw him, I was more worried about a branch coming down on my head.
I walked blue and green yesterday. They were not muddy. Perhaps white and purple could have some wet spots. The rest is likely in good shape. How's Tourne handling last week's rain?
Planning to head there around noon. Tourne drains really well (1/2 rocks). With the leaves it will be super slippery.Any intel on trail conditions post the rain/snow event?
