Tourne County Park Conditions

I guess everybody and their mom got out on foot in the warm temps yesterday. All of that perfect pack we had before is just frozen foot holes now. It’s rideable, but it’s pretty shitty.

I was asked about conditions and said essentially this. I'm gonna head over there after work anyway, cause what else am I gonna do?

Not that I was crushing it before, lol, but the massive boot holes are a bit much on skinnies. I had fun for a few miles but it was brutal. On a fatty you might not even notice 🤷‍♂️

Pretty noticeable this morning in the same conditions on the local trails on the fat at 4lbs, doe some areas different (better/worse/horrible) than others.

the fun factor is definitely gone at least for the moment

I just had probably the most fun I've ever had on a bicycle at the Tourne. That isn't saying much though. Yeah the snow conditions were horrible, but it actually made the Tourne interesting. It was like a ten mile long somewhat chunky and occasionally slippery rock garden. The snow was surprisingly grippy, but it was challenging in a super fun way. Maybe you guys just need better bikes.

Lol I just told somebody that the never ending skinny is now the never ending rock garden. I actually had more grip today than Sunday, it just beats the hell out of you. I’d imagine the fatty floats over it much better, but it was pretty rough on 2.4’s

Same thing at Loantaka Park on Monday. 10 miles of chunky rutty skinny and slippy trail, littered with the occasional grenade 💩from inconsiderate dog owners...it was the best of rides, it was the worst of rides...😄

It was a bit rough this morning but got better later. Should be good to go tomorrow morning.

Thinking about busting out the fat for some of this tomorrow. Anyone interested in joining? Note that I'm not familiar with the trails, but from what I know of the place, that might not be a problem. Right?

You won't get lost!

I say this as a dog owner. WTF is it with people that as soon as it snows; they do not pick up dog shit. I see shit everywhere: my neighborhood, the trails. WTF. The only time I do not see tons of dog shit is when XC skiing because dogs are not allowed. Makes me so mad that dogs are banned from from a lot of places. But the dog shit issue gives dogs a bad rap. Pisses me off. Rant over........

True, paging @mtbiker87. Dog shit on trails is really annoying.
