Is the second hand sweeping or multiple pulse? I'm really OCD when the second hand doesn't land on the marks. Like Carson's gripe on panel gaps I go through a few to find the best alignment
You got me thinking about my Tag quartz. The second hand lands spot on the marks. No OCD issues. I also gotta say that 30+ year old watch is quite accurate too.
Lost bidding on a Hublot F1. Was under the radar and sold for under $2k. Winner got a steal for a $15k watch with a damaged strap. I just started working again and need a new car so wasn't able to bid aggressively.

How does that slide under the cuff? LOL. Is that supposed to be a tachymeter? Where are the markings? I know it is racing inspired given the F1 marker and the disk brake bezel but if you want to time laps you need the tachymeter markings on the bezel (i.e. Daytona, Speedmaster), no? That is just not my style which is why I'll never buy from Breitling because they're just too huge for me or Richard Mille, as if I'll ever be able to afford one anyway. Every watch I tried on I always see how well it slides under the cuff as that's how I like to wear my watches. I tried on a beautiful Grand Seiko GMT the other day, SBGJ249 I think. It would have been perfect but it was just a bit too thick for me.

Thankfully I don't get dressed up too often because my Omega doesn't fit under any shirt cuff. I do have some dress watches but I feel naked without a 5lb. weight on my left wrist.

Also being a fellow OCD sufferer I'm surprised you don't see what I see. Especially for a watch of this caliber. They also have another model that looks a lot like and competes with the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak but that particular feature is better arranged on the AP than Hublot. Normally I wouldn't mind it but when you're supposed to be a luxury brand and charge so much for it you just can't let that slide. There has to be something that separates a $15K watch from a $1500 watch. I'm not going to point that out because I don't want to ruin it for you. You may not even care.

I really like the GS snowflake, it's on my short list of watches. It's better designed as a everyday dress watch in my opinion than the GMT. Check out their store in Soho, they usually carry every model.
Different people pick their watches for different reasons. I wear them for myself and don't like to show them off. People I worked with for decades have no idea what watches I wear and I only talk about them when asked. But that's just me. No bad or wrong reasons.

A local jewelry store is a GS AD and they have a pretty good selection. If I hear about one that they don't have then I may trek over to SOHO but I try to avoid NYC as much as I can.
Interesting. Although I probably will never go there just to buy a watch it does look like a great place for those who are looking. Unless I happen to be traveling internationally for work and there's an AD/boutique either in the airport or in the city then I will stop in and test my luck but I wouldn't go looking for secondhand watches there where there's no recourse if there's a problem when I get back home. I tend not to buy second hand or gray market anyway but if I do I would probably trust them in Japan more than the markets in places like China, Hong Kong, Thailand, or Vietnam given there are so many very high quality fakes out there with fake boxes and papers. To me luxury watches are nice to have but I don't feel I have to have them. If I see a watch I like and I need to be put on a list then so be it. If they don't want to sell it to me then that's fine and life goes on. I'm not going to go second hand or gray market to pay more for the same thing. It's just a watch and it's not going to change my life. Anyway, it's a fun hobby, not a race or competition.

I may pop in to the Citizen Outlet in Woodbury the next time I'm up there.
Is Jomashop legit? It looks legit, but maybe some overseas models, discontinued stuff, or greymarket?
I think I want solar, I've been drawn to Citizen, and I like the idea of Ti for weight and less hot in the summer.

Think about what you like on the face - numbers, Roman numerals, stick, some mix. What is easy for you to read (or is it just bling?)
Then go face color, bezel color combo - while I like polished, it can get scratched. yellow gold vs white, or titanium, etc. Mix? (a gold bezel on a bright polished body!)
Then think bracelet - metal, chunk or thin, vs a leather or fabric.
Do you need the dive bezel? (it is handy for counting down if you don't want your phone.)
Other features (date?)
Put up a wish list, I bet one of the watch nerds (I didn't say WIS) will find you something that will blow you away in the $500 range.
Face: black, easy to read, not picky on arabic, stick, don't want roman numerals
Bezel and bracelet: ti or SS but not too highly polished
No gold or two-tone
Don't need a dive bezel but I do like the look
Don't care about the day/date but not against it either if it's easily readable
Prefer ti and sapphire crystal, but mineral crystal is not a deal breaker

More snob than nerd. LOL. Although they are not on my radar, for a mainstream brand you really can't go wrong with Citizen. They make movements under the Miyota name for other brands to use in their watches so they know what they're doing. Personally, I only look at mechanical movements (manual or automatic), preferably with an exhibition case back so I can geek out at the mechanical marvels inside.

Yes, Joma is legit and decent prices and with a large inventory. Many are probably grey market. Citizens are great to start, and the Promaster series is my favorite, rugged and classy, and could wear with a suit or out on a hike. I have a eco drive watch, and they are the bees knees. The power reserve is impressive for a $200 watch, just leave it out near a light source from time to time.
