Wawayanda Down Trees - Intel? Crowd Sourcing Your Observations...

There's a tree down near the entrance to turkey ridge by old coal.
Tree down at the top of pines right at the entrance by the pipeline
Tree down about midway on new timber.
All fairly small

Thx. I did not get there yet. Any photos? Hand saw or power saw small?

hand saw for timber and pines but the turkey ridge one is a little bigger. i'll take some pics next ride (wed). they're nothing like what was on red dot these are just single tree trunks

Cool. Thx. The photos are always super helpful. I would be happy to gift you with a nice, new Fiskars folding hand saw if you are willing to help out occasionally now and in the future (I am serious). If not, I can get the small ones soon and we can the power saw to the one on TR.

i have one. i'll see what i can do next ride

nice job on the large trees removal, much appreciated one tracker vdub etc....one I forgot to mention was at the top of wing dam right after it crests coming from Laurel pond just as it gets steep. not sure if it's still there or if this is a trail that's maintained but there was a fairly large tree down there earlier this year

I rode my entire loops again from the 26th. We have a tree down midway on the new Timber section. If you are coming from Tombstone, it would be just when you start the downhill descend to the fire road. There is also a tree down on Sitting Bear not too far in from South end (very close to the loop trail link with South End and Sitting bear for the hikers). Everything else was clear and perfect. My ride for reference - Plymouth - Banker - Wall - Mojo Swamp - Hemlock and Load - Pickle - Tombstone - Rattlesnake - Timber - South End - Sitting Bear - Old Wayway Road - Hoff (to Double Pond). Good work to all who helped. I apologize for posting and running with the downed trees. I had to get in a truck and head to NC to ride Kanuga and Ride Rock Creek.

Obstructive trees blocking these spots on mojo and twin bridges

after that storm last night, pray for wayway. that was one of the most violent 30 minutes i've ever seen. rode there pre-storm and things were in great shape, although the usual trails are just starting to get overgrown

How did the NJ bridge on Red dot come out. I haven't had an opportunity to go over there and ride. Been spending more time at ringwood, sterling and mountain creek of late with the first two being closest to my place.

ride report as of 7/3:

Red Dot - entrance to the trail from the campsite to bridge is getting really overgrown. poison ivy section is kicking hard. prepare to be stung. still a TON of debris on the trail overall from previous issues. i'm clearing as much as i can as i go along but losing the battle. repaired nature jim's bridge looks great. love the raised section with the drainage pipe. hopefully no more flooding. still can't ride across it. double tree down near the top close to cherry ridge road to ruin the flow

Mojo - all clear

Turkey Ridge - 3 trees down near the start of the trail by old coal as you approach buddha

Pines - large tree down pretty much in the middle of the course. otherwise shockingly clear. no idea where the legendary thorn bushes have gone but it's all good currently

Tombstone - all clear

Timber new and old - all clear

Pumphouse - small tree down just before wooden bridge from south end

Thx for the report. I trimmed back most of Pines recently.

few trees down on red dot again. a smallish triple branch one you have to climb through and a couple of bigger ones. it's also getting more overgrown than i've ever seen it there before. big sections of this trail now where you can't see the ground in front of your wheel. also a nice trunk down near the entrance to mojo.
on a bright note the rebuild of the nj rock bridge is holding up spectacularly. i was expecting it all to be underwater today but nope, perfectly dry. excellent work there

Was able to get a ride in today to check things out. Banker has 6 or so trees down if I counted properly and one or two low hangers. There is also a tree down just after the huge blow down from the storms earlier this year on Hemlock/Load. This would be coming in off Mojo Swap. I can confirm that the rest of Hemlock and Load, Mojo Swamp, Overlook, rockadendrum are clear.
