Wawayanda State Park Conditions

Sink hole on Furnace road. 🤣

i think this was mentioned earlier but on red dot there are like 4-5 large downed trees that i don't think a hand saw can handle. turkey ridge has 2 down just after the old coal split. timber, south end are all in good shape. pumphouse though...

i would like to propose a lifetime ban from trail or bridge building for the person/persons who designed the rebuild of the pumphouse bridge. you swim to get to the bridge, get to dry off for a bit (win?) on the shiny new bridge and then go for a swim again. completely unrideable and the water was above my knees. i'd strongly advise avoiding this area, which royally sucks if you're trying to get back to the beach

That's kind of you, but I have a better idea. Leave it with Buddha next time you're out that way and give me a heads up. A ride is always better when there's a sub mission
i am 100% supportive of Buddha facilitating this transaction. very underutilized resource🤣

red dot trail has officially been closed by the park service. i rode it on saturday and other than the usual 4-6 downed trees (lol) didn't see anything that would necessitate a closing, so not sure what happened. it looked like they cut some of the trees and stopped at some point and just decided to close it

twin bridges is ok. someone cut that right-angle tree that was down at the top of that climb, but that one elevated tree that someone cut so narrow that it barely fits my handlebars is still there

pines, tombstone, timber all in great shape. thanks to whoever trimmed the thorns on pines!

I can speak for the reasons of closing Red Dot trail. When I was out last week clearing blowdowns I came across a dangerous tree along the trail. It's a 70' tall dead tree, split at about 5' up to another 20' or so. If the wind blows the right way and someone is in the area it will kill someone. It's best to let nature take it down.
